Fantastic processor Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

- Runs steady
- Easy to overclock
- Handles gaming, content creation, and everything else I've thrown at it
Cons
- None so far
Summary
Note that if you have Windows 7/8.1 you will be constantly requested to update to Windows 10 as there are features that don't work unless you have 10. This wasn't an issue for me as I use 10- anyways but something you should know before buying into the Kaby Lake chipset.

Perfect for gaming and moderate content creation. Don't expect to be able to crush Handbreak with only 8 threads, but for more simple Youtube work, this should be fine.

Lets get real. This is the gamer's cpu.

Pros

-Best CPU for gaming for now. Period.
-You want best gaming performance, then this is your best choice.
-5Ghz OC, let's go yo!
Cons
-Well, it will cost you more $ since you have to buy additional decent cpu cooler as it doesnt have a free cpu cooler. Damn Yo!
-once cannonlake is out, err late 2017? you will feel fffffkkkk fffffpppt! because what if cannonlake is a real stepup? say for real, 10% improvement vs old , not this skylake->kabylake upgrade which is like 2% overall performance increase.
Summary
So, after me watching-- 100+ videos on youtube about gaming benchmarks. Yeah, all those tech youtubers you name it. I watched them all. This is because, I am an AMDfx8320 owner, and I decided to go intel this time on my new pc build, but because of the Ryzen release, I waited, and waited and checked what Ryzen has to offer.. But Ryzen 1700/1700x is just meh to me. Remember, I am all for gaming and gaming alone. So all these good things Ryzen has to offer is something I am not interested. So let me tell you the deal, are you a gamer and your PC build is for your gaming alone? Then listen to me.
So yeah, after watching these benchmarks from all over the world, introducing....THE REIGNING, DEFENDING, THE UNDISPUTED and..... STILL!!!!!........... the gamer's CPU of the worrrrlllddddddddddd....... Innnnnnn Tellllllllllll iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii sevennnnnnn 7700KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! --ok ok, i may sound like a total intel fanboy so i will not. i've been using this cpu for about a week already. and yes, real speak, it is fast and good. but im not saying its the fastest and baddest cpu gaming really. nothing fancy on my settings:i game on 1080p. you know why? my old rig is an Amdfx8320+gtx1070+8gb ddr3 ram, steam games on harddisk. my game is xcom2 and with that rig, i cant even hit 60fps on medium. heck, i have to use minimum settings to hit average 30fps. so i decided to go balls in the walls in my new rig. so intel i7 7700k it is. my new rig now is i77700k+gtx1070+16gb(3200mhz ddr4) ram, steams games on m.2/nvme and still, i can't hit the damn 60fps even on minimum settings and im like WTF! do i need to go 1080ti sli to hit 60fps/1080p on my xcom2 game? oh well maybe it's the xcom2 is the problem itself so im just saying. to be fair, when i alt-tab, it would take about half or less second to switch windows and it would take 2 minutes to load my xcom2 save game, now its about 15 seconds but no improvement on my the fps. sucks balls.

Fast ! Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

Really great performance
Cons
pricey
Summary
Switched my old 950 for this. I can now do x264 encode 3 times as fast as before. For my day to day task, I don't really see a big change.

Good, does the job, thermals are off Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

Fastest CPU for FPS
Cons
The thermals are really odd. Temperature will shoot up to 60 -70 C at basically idle for seconds on water, 80-90 under load.
Summary
One of the fastest you can buy, might have to de-lid though.

Pros

Very fast, overclocks well.
Cons
Heat. My complaint is the same one everyone else has, the TIM they used between the die and IHS is pretty bad. My particular chip is seeing a temperature variance of 11 degrees between cores at stock speeds, and up to a little over 30 when overclocked. (cores 1 and 2 are the same, 3 and 4 are the same.. 1 and 2 are the hot ones)
Summary
It works as it was advertised so I can't complain there, I'm a little disappointed that I now have to resort to delidding my cpu in order to see where my chips limits are for overclocking. My custom water-cooling loop is extreme overkill(2 360rads) and I just never figured I would be looking at temperature issues like I am seeing.

Pros

- great performance - easy to overclock - multi threading
Cons
- pricey
Summary
If you can afford it, this is one of the best and most versatile CPUs you can buy. Performs great in all conditions ( browsing, gaming, content creation, ...) and is easy to over clock if you want to squeeze out even more speed out of it. I have not tried Ryzen CPUs, but I'm not disappointed with this purchase at all.

Runs great, a little hot Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

- Very fast
- Easy 4.8-5Ghz overclock
Cons
- Have to delid to get reasonable temp with over voltage 1.3 and more on air
Summary
Has been very easy to overclock and manage on Asus Maximus IX Hero. Very stable and fast experience. 4 cores, 8 threads is wonderful for multicore tasks.

It runs a little bit hot, but I'll find if better after delid soon.
