Well, its ok but not really that fast

Pros

-faster than hard disk boot. yeah, thats it. but if you boot from those 2.5" ssd, you wont feel the difference.
-no noice when data reading/writing obviously.
-just for tech, its a new "thing" so might as well have a try.
-gum stick SSD, sure.
Cons
-not really that fast. a little fast but does it do justice for its price?
-not plug and play, you have to know your PC interface doodle.
Summary
So i went to the hype train that is called ENVY_me. i decided to buy this instead of say a 500GB SSD 2.5" drive. also i had a few older hardware in my pc build. so i am using this intel i7 7700k cpu + gtx 1070 and expecting fast, like fast- really noticeable difference, remember im from AMDfx8320+1070gpu+hard disk storage but when i finally had this its faster but not really noticeable. sorry man. also my setup is this, bootdrive/games installation files will go all to the intelnvme ssd, other files to my old harddisk and put on my dvd drive just for loading movies or old drivers if my internet is down. at first when, i installed windows7, it detected the nvme, but not the harddisk and then the optical drive. my mobo is a gigabyte z270 manufactured 2016 so yeah, new hardware. i have to research the internet and all that stuff how to deal with this. but still no go. what i did, was just connect to the nvme (well its already attached/screwed anyway to the mobo lol) and disconnect the harddrive. computer now is ok, had to load the win10 iso from the dvd drive. install it from there to the nvme. then after that, opened my case and re-plugged my harddisk to some random another sata port, my mobo has like 6 and finally the computer is now ok, i have the nvme, the old harddisk and the optical drive all working. but super time consuming to figure this out. apparently, this nvme is sharing and wants exclusive use of the port so this port the harddisk is using so yeah, you have to re-port the harddrive sata connector until all connection are ok.

A bit better then Sata SSD Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

-Price was very good, close in price to standard SSD
-Intel
Cons
-Not easy to clone or install
Summary
I am not familiar with this interface, but it wasn't quite plug and play, it took some time to get the laptop to recognize it and it would clone with software included. I ended up cloning it with Partition Magician, it is a bit quicker to boot then Standard SSD, but just marginally. Only other issue now, seems to be whenever I plug in an external HDD into an USB port, I have to assign it a letter to be able to use the external. Not sure if this the ASUS G752VL-DH that I installed it in or the SSD. Overall I am happy.

Great NVMe drive!

Pros

- Price
- Read speeds
Cons
- Write speeds
Summary
I bought 2 of these to put into a RAID0 in my Alienware laptop and they are working well. Great read speeds but as a single drive the write speeds are below average.

Use as a boot drive in Windows 7 Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

small size
(relatively) low price/performance
generic drivers in Win 10
Cons
no native driver in Win 7
Summary
I wanted a fast boot drive and this little guy offered ~3X the speed of a SATA SSD. HOWEVER, there are multiple articles on the internet in essence saying it's complex getting an NVMe based SSD to work as a boot drive under WIN 7 (because there are no drivers included on the WIN 7 install disk). However, there is a hotfix available from Intel and several options for workarounds.

It turned out not to be difficult at all. I bought an Asus Z170-A MB (which accepts the 600p plugged into the M.2 slot) and used the latest (1.03.06) Asus EZ Installer utility (download from ASUS) to copy WIN 7 from the install disk to a USB (2.0 or 3.0) flash drive and modify the image to include USB 3.0 and NVMe drivers (The latter is optional and requires you to check an option box to include the NVMe hotfix). (Be warned It seems to take forever to create the modified installer, but my guess it took about 30 minutes on a USB 2 drive). You then use the resulting flash drive version of Windows to install WIN 7. Install system drivers from the ASUS MB DVD and enjoy a fast booting system.

Installed in an older x58 system. Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Pros

As of purchase, best value m.2 nvme drive available.
Performs as expected (even being used on an older platform over pcie 2.0). Getting read speeds in excess of 2x of two sata ssds in raid0. Writes also significantly improved from where I was previously but relatively on par with high-end modern sata3 ssds.
Cons
Drive can be overwhelmed by very large sized transfers, slowing considerably. Not really a concern in day to day usage for me, only during initial setup as I was transferring over 100s of gigs from other drives.
Better performance can be found in competing Samsung products in the segment.
Summary
Installed with a pcie to m.2 adapter to extend the life of an older 1st generation corei7 platform (x58). Despite the motherboards of this era not supporting nvme, windows 10 has generic drivers so there are no issues using this drive for additional faster storage / game installs. However this drive can not be used as a bootable windows drive in older systems with non-UEFI bioses. I had initially hoped for that as I had read of people successfully booting from samsung 950pros but it seems that drive has a legacy boot rom that allows for compatibility with older systems. Considering the cost difference between those drives, i'm ok with this resulting setup. Makes sata ssds fairly irrelevant.
