Plugs in Dpi Soft touch precise nice braded cord easy to scroll wheel soft texture of top sturdy and smooth

kinda wide sandpaper grip on sides feels weird for the first couple days
|
Was getting sick of the double click on my performance mx, and just seriously sick of Logitech and their double click issues in general so decided to try something new after 10+years with top end MX mice, i was kinda worried about this mouse originally but i am pleasantly surprise, it is very smooth and sturdy, it does have a very wide stance so it takes some getting used to, but doesnt hurt your hand like some logitech gaming mice, i actually got it for 30 bucks with an instant rebate so cant go wrong, back and forward buttons are very east to hit for me, and there is a satisfying click each time you sclick, same with scrolling very effective and comfortable. the sand paper grip on the sides is rather annoying at first but over a week or so it has smoothed out a bit. Great mouse so far

I decided a month ago to upgrade my old sidewinder X5 to a newer mouse. Picket up the Logitech G500 (great mouse), but I couldn't get used to the full palm type of grip that needs to be used on it.
I tried feeling up this M60 at NCIX, and find it perfect for the "claw" type mouse grip that I use. Feels very well built, braded cord, and excellent sensivity.

None, better than most mice I've tried out, better than the plasticy Rat7's!
|
I have only owned this mouse for a couple days, but I love it. I've used a RAT7 mouse before, and it was nice but too plasticy. This is a nice and heavy mouse, I keep all the weights in. The blue Led's aren't too bright but look really nice! The scroll wheel is heavy and does not feel like it will break any time soon. Has a nice click to it, but does require more pressure than you would expect to click it down. Right and left clicks are very solid, I like the fact that it's stronger than some Logitech's where a small breath is all that is required to activate the buttons. The 2 side buttons have very nice feedback with a prominent click to them. Despite other reviews, I did not find that it was too far away for me to reach it. Very useful, in gaming holding it down to get that shot is very convenient. It is also nice for 3D animating, when you need to get that small little movement. Overall, amazing mouse! Got it on sale $30 off, never used a better mouse!

Works on every surface I have tried without problems. Adjustable DPI lets you dial in the feel. Custom buttons and profiles. Weights to adjust the feel. Very smooth delrin pads. Excellent build quality. Adequate cord length.
|
None that I have found.
|
Great buy when on sale from various distributors. Coming from a Logitech small wireless mouse the Corsair fulfilled all my needs. Larger space for my hand to spread out, much better ergonomics for my wrist, short cut buttons, and tons of adjustment to get the feel just right.
Using the profile manager is simple and feature filled. what I would have liked to see is the ability to make macros or multi-keypress. They have features like copy and paste which are multi-key shortcuts for Windows but not sure how the program is activating them. Maybe I just haven't found it but it seems like the functionality is there.
It does take a bit of getting used to coming from generic styled mice but the end result is a far nicer experience. I personally have my hand resting across at a slight angle so I can hit the sniper button and keep my wrist straight.
Overall I have completely satisfied and will be recommending this to my friends.

Nice aesthetics Good price Solid construction Scrolling is smooth and accurate Teflon pads are superb, and seem durable so far as well High quality braided cord (that isn't too stiff)
|
Button placement is not ideal Adjustable weights don't allow for much fine-tuning Scroll wheel requires too much force to depress (for my taste) Corsair Vengeance software is horrible
|
Starting with the hardware: the build quality seems to be quite good, and clicks feel very clear and clean without requiring too much force for actuation. The shape, however, is just not quite right for my tastes. I can't seem to find a way to comfortably hold it. There's always a corner digging into my palm, or I can't get my thumb in a place where it can reach the buttons. Maybe I have freakishly long thumbs or something.
Now the software... It's painful to use, and lacks several features present with Razer and Logitech's offerings. Missing features include the ability to have one mouse profile assigned to several applications, and easy assignment of multi-key shortcuts. As well, most of the buttons in the UI aren't labelled, and the ones that are aren't very clear. If all you need to do is setup the DPI settings then you won't have any problems. If you're looking to customize button settings, create macros or setup application profile switching you'll be in for an afternoon of frustration.
It's a decent mouse for the price, but I'd recommend spending the extra few dollars and picking up something else.
As a side note (which should be taken with a grain of salt) the 'sniper' button broke after less than a month of pretty light use. Could just be a lemon but I thought it was worth mentioning.

More designed for a claw grip
|
After upgrading to this mouse from a Razer Abyssus I am highly pleased. The only thing is, I have completely redesigned my grip on the mouse since transitioning to the m60. I now rest my index, middle and ring fingers across the top leaving just my pinky on the right side as after a few days of using it I found this is the only comfortable positioning for my hand as there isn't enough space on the right side for 2 fingers unless you are clawing it with just the fingertips. I feel like for my personal grip type I would go with a Mionix Naos 8200 next time.

I have had this mouse for a few days and it feels awesome. It just glides over my steelseries mouse pad. I know some people have said it is a bit heavy but I dont think so. It feels the same as my logitech g5 (without weights). It also looks very nice at night with the blue led light. I was debating between this and a razer mouse but I settled for this one as I owned a razer copperhead and always had random disconnect problems. Love this corsair mouse

- Aluminum body adds some nice weight to the mouse (personal preference) - The little gap between the two buttons lets a finger rest for the mouse wheel - anti-slip side walls allowing a good hold on the mouse. - 2 year warranty with corsair's great RMA service. - Customizable instand DPI change button that is easily accesssible.
|
- Reports that the sniper logo wears off very quickly. - No interchangable grips (miss this feature from g9)
|
Coming from a G9 mouse, I had high requirements as the G9 is a great mouse for me.
This mouse is larger than the G9. To be in position to access all buttons, I must palm this mouse. I can still operate the the back button when I keep the heel of my hand on the desk. I would have liked the sniper button to be closer to the heel of the mouse where it can be activated by the knuckle of my thumb, instead of the tip. This might just be due to my smaller hands though.
The amount of force required to press the two main mouse buttons feels right. No matter what grip I use, the mouse buttons force is the same. If my fingers are at the front-most edge of the mouse, it requires the same pressure (or close enough that I can't notice) than if my fingers are 2 inches back from the edge.
The middle mouse button however takes more force than I feel it should. I hope with time it eases up. A few less grams of pressure required for that button would be great.
Coming from a g9, I really didn't need too many buttons (like the m90 mouse). I have always wanted the sniper button. I had gotten used to modifying dpi settings on my g9 when entering the scope, but it was awkward and required the trigger finger in order to do this. The thumb-placed sniper button is great.
Not only is this instant-dpi change good for FPS games, but in photoshop or some other precision applications, it can be a great help as well. Using the software, you could even reverse the instant-dpi change so that it increases your DPI. Maybe in a strategy game you would do that and you would use that button to quickly scroll the map at the edge of the screen (although hotkeys would be better )
This mouse slides much better on my cloth mouse pad than my old g9. The lift detection is nice I guess, but I really don't need it necessarily.
The textured side-walls of the mouse allow for a good grip since that is where you typically apply pressure to the mouse to control it. Given the texturing it should provide a bit of anti-slip in case of sweaty hands.
Without any software, I found the mouse worked fine. The back and forward buttons are set to send the standard button presses and the sniper dpi change is all handled inside the mouse. The software easily allows you to configure the DPI ranges where you could make the sniper button DPI much higher than your normal dpi.. if this is desired.
The software also provides you the ability to send rapid depresses of a button. I can't think of any games off hand that require this, but all sorts of old nintendo games used to - and that turbo-controller feature has made it into the mouse.
The mouse is a bit on the heavier side. This is fine for me, but if you prefer a lighter mouse - you can remove some weights from it. I removed all 3 weights from the mouse and found the mouse much lighter. Keep this in mind, that the 3 weights do add a noticable difference to the mouse allowing you to customize it further.
All in all, I feel this mouse will serve me well as the successor to my much-loved g9. Unless you need lots of thumb buttons or want to bind all macros to your mouse, I feel this mouse is the better of the two even if you don't play FPS.

I bought this mouse as a fast replacement for my R.A.T. 7, which broke down. I've started the warranty process with Mad Catz, but it's going to take about 1 month, maybe more. In the meantime, I'm in need of a mouse, so since I saw it had a big rebate on it (and I had read good reviews about it), I decided to buy it. For 40$, it's a great mouse.

- Very Solid Construction - High Quality feel - Precise Laser - Sniper button is very awesome been playing Battlefield 3 with it and love Sniping!

- Software is quirky - Incompatible with certain USB ports. If plugged in it won't be detected as an M60 rendering the drivers useless. Had to plug in my Corsair K90 to get it to detect properly on an Asus Rampage IV Extreme.

This is the best mouse I have ever owned. Previously had a R.A.T.7 which is a decent mouse ... but this one takes the cake! Biggest complaint about the RAT and a lot of other laser mouses I have was dust/dirt getting into the laser area and making the mouse "stuck"... NEVER has happened with this mouse - ever! Will definitely be buying more of these :) Each button is programmable to do almost anything you want.

- high quality build - aesthetically pleasing - rigid scroll wheel - responsive/accurate laser - very comfortable, especially for palm grippers
|
- customization software is lacking - weight adjustment requires screwdriver
|
Choosing the right gaming mouse is largely based on personal preference. Comfort, look, and overall feel is subjective. However, 'objectively' I can attest that this mouse is a very high quality piece of hardware. Unlike the Logitech G9x, the Corsair M60 feels very solid in your hands; there's no loose rattling, and the rubberised coating feels great. The laser itself is very accurate and responsive; no hint of hyper sensitivity at all.
The software for this mouse could really use an overhaul. The interface is confusing and the ability to fully customize your mouse is lacking. Depending on the size of your hand, you may get uncomfortable using the mouse as there is a clearing on the rear of the right side of the mouse. This was probably an aesthetic decision, but could bug some people. I have medium sized palms, but long fingers so it doesn't bother me. A lot of gaming mice have customizable weight adjustments, which is included in the M60 as well; however, you would need a flat head screw driver to remove the caps at the bottom of the mouse to adjust the weight. No idea why Corsair didn't make it tool-less.
A special note for Logitech G5 owners, if you've been looking for a replacement, and the G9x or G500 just didn't cut it for you, you should really check out the M60. The grip and feel is very reminiscent of the G5. Overall, good buy especially when it's on sale for 50 bucks.

Got this mouse based on reviews, its quality and price is great ($50), love the mouse wheel and you can macro the sniper button but requires googling. AMAZING feel, Solid mouse. Sniper button is placed in a way that it won't ever be an annoyance. Haven't used the feature in game but definitely nice to have. You can tell when you hold this mouse that it was ergonomically designed. It just feels right.
|
Haven't downloaded the software yet... don't think I will. Weight feels off to me when I take any one out, although nice of Corsair to add that feature.
|
This is it. This is THE mouse. It fits my hand literally perfectly. I was using a G400 before I got this mouse to go along with my K60 (fantastic keyboard btw) but the grip wasn't right. On this mouse it is perfect. When you hold it in your hand, when you look at it or feel it, there is only one thing you can think: this thing is solid. Aluminum construction, which is another thing I'm fond of on the K60. Great tracking. Solid scroll wheel. Blue LED is a nice touch. I think it looks so unique and very sharp beside the K60. I know there are other options for the money but I can't imagine anything better than this. Great for claw and palm grippers because I know I'm a hybrid guy depending on which mouse pad I'm using and it is amazing. Very happy. Will continue to buy from CORSAIR. For $10 more than my G400, WORTH IT.

-Outstanding build quality (to be expected from Corsair) -Very good shape for a claw grip -Perfect placement of the sniper, forward and return buttons of the mouse. (As well as the scroll wheel, the right and left click but I mean, it would be an achievement to put those in the wrong place) -VALUE.
|
-Software is not exceptional. -Questionably useful sniper button.
|
I bought this one not too long ago for a friend's birthday to replace his beat-up deathadder and I had a couple of chances to try it out. I must say, the build quality is exceptional for the price point of the mouse. I certainly feels good and sturdy in the hand and the buttons are perfectly placed. The sensor had no tracking issues whatsoever on a cloth mouse pad and was precise. Altough the sniper button feels more like a gimmick than something that I would actually use and the software is "meh." I would have no qualms recommending this mouse to anybody who doesn't want to spend a fortune on a mouse but doesn't want to skimp on the quality of the product.

- Looks awesome. - Being able to change DPI on the fly. - Great driver features. - Adjustable weight.

- 'Sniper' button's location.

I replaced my bone stock 'nothing' mouse with the Corsair M60 and I'm loving it. Not only does it look great but it also performs very well. I really like being able to adjust the DPI sensitivity at any time by pushing a couple of buttons. The 'Sniper' button does its job too but I don't like where it's positioned. I feel like it needs to be moved back a little more. It's almost completely out of reach, forcing me to kinda 'claw' the mouse. Other than that, this mouse is great. The driver utility offers a lot of customizing features as well. Highly recommended for gamers!

- Heavy-duty weight and feel. - Heavy-duty mouse wheel. - Rubber-like top and textured sides. - Sensitivity buttons are easy to access but difficult to hit by accident.
|
- Sniper button positioning. - LED lighting. - Obnoxiously sensitive at default settings.
|
I used to use a Logitech G500 before it was starting to go faulty and I picked up the M60 to replace it. I'm happy to say that at the very least the M60 matches the G500 in performance. When dealing with such a high echelon of mouse-ware it's difficult to tell the difference in terms of performance but this certainly feels like a performer and satisfies all my gaming needs.
The feel of the mouse has to be addressed. To people just looking at the product's pictures, you might think this is an uncomfortable mouse to hold, but you definitely get used to it after awhile. The gaps between the outer shell of the mouse are in areas where your hand isn't normally touching the mouse anyway so other than the initial feel you won't notice a thing when you hold it.
The whole mouse has a heavy-duty feel to it, other than the edges of the outer shell where it doesn't connect to the aluminum base and appears to just be a thick layer of plastic hanging free-form(and you don't really feel this more than it just being a visual observation). It's heavy and feels really good in the hand. The mouse-wheel is the best wheel I've ever used. It's aluminum with a rubberized and grooved track, and the scroll notches are clearly defined when using it. Some mice have a button to disable the notches and have the wheel roll freely(the M60 does not) but I've never seen the point to that feature. The mouse buttons aren't overly sensitive so I never click them by accident... which is something I used to do frequently with my old Razer Diamondback(which drove me absolutely crazy).
Perhaps the standout feature of the mouse is the big red sniper button located on the side of the mouse. Without installing the official drivers, the sniper button seems to use the lowest sensitivity of the three that are available to you... meaning it doesn't do anything if you already have it set to the lowest sensitivity setting. If you're at level 2 or 3 however, you can quickly toggle to level 1 sensitivity. Depending on how you hold the mouse, you'll either have access to this button quickly and easily or it'll be completely out of your reach.
For me, the sniper button is far too high up the mouse to use, and personally I don't understand why the feature would be helpful to some. To be honest I hold the mouse crooked and my thumb is normally right under the sniper button with the top of it sometimes touching against the bottom edge of the sniper button. To re-orient the hand just for sniping would defeat the purpose of making things easier, and for me to learn a second sensitivity setting that you only really use some of the time instead of all of the time makes the feature pointless. It's just more difficult to aim with a sensitivity that you're not used to using. The only positive that I see to the feature is if you're trying to do super long range sniping on a target that isn't moving in Battlefield 3 or something, so you can precisely pick your spot to shoot. Oh, and the sniper label on the button wears out incredibly quickly. I don't even use the button and the edge of it where my thumb might brush against it is already starting to wear after a month of general use.
The LED lighting on the mouse is kind of neat but depending on where your mouse is, it could be obtrusive. I personally have the mouse high on my desk. It's not level with the monitor obviously... but not far from it, and it's fairly close to the monitor. During the day the LED light bounces off the monitor very feintly and it's not very noticeable but with the lights off, I have a moving, glowing blue ball on the corner of my monitor that comes from the mouse. Thankfully because my monitor is so large it's not always noticeable but I thought it would be worth mentioning as it was something I was disappointed with right out of the starting gate.
The other quirk I've had with the mouse is that upon plugging it in, all three sensitivity settings were far too sensitive for me. Obviously you can adjust this with your OS settings so for general computer operation, all it needs is a quick fine-tune in your Control Panel. I find the mouse to be overly sensitive in FPS games, and of course you can change sensitivity in the options. I've had to lower the previous settings on every FPS I've played with it so far, and some games don't even support the low setting that I'd like(Killing Floor is one of them), even when using the lowest sensitivity setting on the mouse.
If you like ultra low sensitivity this might be a problem for you, but the official drivers and software could be the solution. I say could be the solution because I haven't used them. I've used whatever Windows installs when you plug it in and it works just fine. I'm mortified to try the Corsair software offered on their website after reports of locking up the mouse with it. Perhaps this has been fixed already, but it's not something I'd risk personally and thus can't comment on the mouse software itself.
All in all, it's a very good mouse. It's easily one of the best I've used, right up there with the G500 and the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, and I would definitely purchase it again even with it's quirks. After all, what mouse is perfect?

-adjustable weights -good quality keys and wheel -excellent precision -long and quality cable
|
-MIR

Have this mouse for 3 months now and i am very pleased with it. I don't have a huge hand and the shape of this mouse is perfect for me but i can see how for some the shape would not be ideal as there are sharp edges near the back of the mouse. Using the buttons near the wheel it's very easy to change sensitivity (handy if you need to change that but unnecessary if you always keep the same sensitivity). buttons are good quality and they don't have a loud click noise like my old mouse (it was a gigabyte but i forget what model). An other nice feature is the adjustable wights that you can remove if you like. only problem I had is the MIR with Corsair; sent everything correctly and they refused it. would of been a very good deal with MIR otherwise it's average.

-Good Quality Feel -Heavy -Good switches -Blue LED diplay current DPI -Soft touch
|
-Drivers support are pathetic -Firmware driver glitchy -Poor RMA support -Mouse is large
|
After installing driver the mouse firmware crashed then almost bricked the mouse. Had to install a firmware updater to be able to use the mouse again, but the driver still crash the firmware.
Never had answer after sending RMA support, so i can't change my DPI on my mouse, I must use the standard Microsoft driver.

Overall, a really good mouse from Corsair if you like playing FPS games. The DPI switch on the side is a nice touch, I'm still getting used to it, but I'm sure it can be a great asset.

Cheap Quality Performance

Bulky

Great features. I just love the "sniper" button, really helps out, but kind of slows down the sensitivity too fast for my sniping. Great "weights" really responsive and "clickable". (Unlike some other mice that you click 10x, it only reads as 1x.)

Build quality is top notch. Works on any surface.
|
Software. Driver. Firmware.
|
This was a great mouse while it lasted. It has a nice quality build, the wheel scrolls nicely and has excellent tactile feedback.
The laser tracks on every surface that I tried flawlessly.
Now there is a very serious problem with this product, but it's not the mouse itself. The crippling effect of the software/driver is inexcusable. The software has been left stagnant with no update s for many months. Corsair's support forum are filled with disgruntled customers bemoaning this ugly fact.
Now, the software works to an extent to customize the mouse settings, but it is very buggy. I could at first set the DPI for the lowest setting but then suddenly I could not. I could change the middle and high as well as the sniper button, but not the lowest. No a big deal, the mouse worked great, but still something I wanted to check into.
Sooooo...I go over to Corsair's forums and a firmware update is suggested. I update the firmware. Now this mouse is dead. No LEDs, not movement, nothing. Not one computer I've tried to plug the mouse into recognizes it as a device.
This mouse has been crushed to death by Corsair's firmware.
Where is my vengeance?
R.I.P. Corsair M60.

Very accurate, and responsive. Well built and nice attention to detail

Software is buggy
|
This mouse is one of the best which I have ever owned. Everything I love about it. The Claw grip, the different plastic finishing, the aluminum body, the weight system, the over sized scrolling wheel, LED lighting / the braided cabling. Only complaint is that the software is buggy.

Quality Weight Adjustment DPI Adjustment and Indicator PTFE Feet Software
|
Weight Adjustment (see summary) Software in Beta
|
Overall: Still can't get over how great this mouse is.
The previous mouse I owned, I bought because of the cheap price. I wouldn't make that mistake again, so this time I spent more money. I got this on sale because of my rule: Buy unnecessary things when they go on sale.
Quality: The first thing you notice about this mouse is the quality. I received a $15 instant rebate and a $15 mail-in rebate for this, and the money was well spent.
The rigid, aluminium unibody base, and the sturdy plastic body shout "quality". The top of the mouse is smooth and comfortable, and the pinky and thumb rests are textured for a good grip.
Weight Adjustment: This is my first 'weighted' mouse. I like my mouse heavier for a more 'controlled' movement when playing fps games, so it may not have been an amazing incentive, but it's a good addition.
I didn't feel a big difference when they were removed. The weights could have been heavier, or there could have been more to allow for better personalization.
On the other hand, my brother tried the mouse and found that removing the weights did make a difference, and he preferred it that way too.
PTFE Feet: Small note on this: The five feet on the bottom allows for amazing, near frictionless movement.
DPI Adjustment and Indicator: The previous mouse I owned was the first one with on-the-fly DPI adjustment. The guys at Corsair did a good job with thinking of dropping an indicator in there so you can tell which setting it's on.
Software: I love the fact that there's a program available to allow for personalization. I've changed the DPI settings to fit my own tastes and gaming style. Well, that's all.
The problem is, there isn't much else that can be done. The sniper and two DPI buttons can't be remapped to 'extra' buttons. They can only be set as the other existing buttons. For example, the sniper can only be remapped as left, right, middle, back or forward mouse buttons, or as dpi up, down or select . This means you can't bind it to anything in-game; for example, if you wanted to bind it as 'select previous weapon'.
People, including me, have had problems where the software seems to mess with the firmware. I was once fidgeting with the dpi settings, when my mouse started to lag or be unresponsive. Removing the driver and software with another mouse didn't work. Switching back between different 'lift-heights' in the software (as per a suggestion on the Corsair forums) seemed to have made it work after, although, I don't know what that does to the mouse. It's been working perfectly since.
Regardless of the minute cons, the mouse is a perfect buy.
