Summary Installed fine and I will probably never move it again. The ends are flimsy, but if you are even moderately careful you will not break anything. Overall great price and does exactly what I want.
Cons the exposed wires at the end are a little sketchy
Summary Recabled my case to improve airflow, this did the job quite nicely. The exposed wires at either end of the cable are a bit worrisome, but nothing came lose so as long as its not worked too much it should be fine.
Summary What can you say about a floppy cable other then, It matched the color to my other cables. I dont use the floppy very often so it was small and compact for traveling around, or hiding away in my case. You cant really go wrong for 3 bucks. Besides what more do you really need, other review said the wires might break off but once its plugged in and case is closed are you really moving it every time you use your computer, Dont think so. So all and all get it use it enjoy it.
Pros Cheap A heck of a lot better than wide ribbon cables
Cons Seem pretty cheaply made, but for $3 who cares.
Summary For the longest time in never had the FDD in my tower plugged in. But there were time when I sure could have used one (making disks for flashing BIOS chips, etc). So for $3 I picked one up. For the price, I can't really complain about it. It does feel pretty cheap, but I am not going to be connecting and un-connecting repeatedly, so it will be fine. Wide ribbon cables are the bane of my existance so this is a very economical way to go to keep things looking neat and tidy in your case.
Summary Bought these when they were on sale for $2. For $2 they are worth the price. The wires to the connectors are exposed that may cause them to break or come loose unlike the OEM ones I got from my MSI motherboard. Either pay a little extra for better cabels or wait for these to go on sale.
Summary This cable doesn't seem very durable, but since it only cost $2 on sale, no complaints. The blue looks good in the case and rounded makes better airflow. I like the pull-tabs in theory, but I'm not sure they will last.
Summary I purchased a couple of these for different computers. No issues with installing them or using them so far. The picture makes it look like you could connect two floppy drives to this cable. That is not the case. It's a one to one cable for a single floppy drive.
Summary These are really nice looking cables, BUT , they are not perfect. DON'T Look at the PICTURE, it's WRONG
I noticed they use the minimum required wire (you'll see that because the unused pins are missing. The Rubber boot that joins the cord to the conncetor doesn't fit, and is mearly to cover the multi colored stands of wire. That means you NEED to use the Pull TAB, otherwise it's so cheap, the wires would rip (I'm sure of it).
One positive thing about the loose rubber boot, is that you are able to hide the pull tab under it. I have a case that has a window, and it looks much better when the grey pull tabs are gone. They should really keep the colors standard. Blue cable, Blue wires, Blue Pull tab, etc...
Yes, they are thin and flexible, and short. Normally I would cut the floppy cables, I don't like this big long cable just of ONE floppy drive. (who uses 2 floppy drives any more ??) So this is a benifit to me.
Air Flow, everyone takes about air flow like they know what's going on. Yes a round cable could be like a sail in the wind, but what is your wind ?? Unless there is a tornado in your computer, air flow isn't going to make much of a different between a short ribben cable and a round one. Unless you you like to block air ways with it, or wrap it around your CPU fan.
I paid $3 / cable, looking at other reviews I see they got it for $2. So wait for a sale.
I do recommend these cables, even though they look and feel cheap. I remember buying a 80 Pin cable for my P2 (you know, those solid ones with blue/grey/balck connectors), brand new it costed $15, I used it two times (plug and unplug) in the first week and it broke, even the store owner wouldn't exchange it because he though I broke it intentionally. So you can find flaws everywhere.
Hey, I try to make my reviews as helpful as I can, if you gained something from it, please concider leaving a tip, Thank you !!!
