It works every time I have needed it to.
The software is annoying if you change the "display text size" through the windows control panel. If you keep it at stock 100% then you will have zero issues.
I own two of these, the primary use for one is as follows:

I have this running my 55" Samsung UN55EH6000F tv, Onkyo TX-NR708 with 9 speakers (sub is powered and not on UPS) s 100w each peak, and HTPC (Bulldozer 4100k s stock self auto OC, with 16gb ram, 5 3tb red[raid5]+ 1tb black[boot]+ 2 2tb green[boot backup + misc], evga GTX660 FTW2 2gb, LG bluray drive, OCZ ZX850w PSU). It has never gone above 40% load, and that was with a quad core Atom running a 30 man minecraft server on it, and a Q6600 system with sli'd g80's too. Normal usage playing a bluray with 50-75% volume on receiver (LOUD!) is 24-26% load. I am very impressed. Idle or when browsing the web is 14-16% load. I have complete confidence that between this and the raid5 array I will not lose anything important.

The second one is for my gaming rig, but it has less draw then the above setup. I price matched them for an insane deal, but would pay full price if I needed a UPS.

I would buy this brand over APC, and anything a big box sells. If you do not mind voiding a warranty you can add in deep cycle yacht batteries to any ups for crazy run time, but with this why bother. I have had 3 gaming rigs on each one s a LAN party, worked great.

lots of features, reliable, well built
This is my first UPS so I have nothing to compare it against.

Got this about a year ago when a blackout fried my power supply. I was lucky it did not damage my cpu or hard drives.

Since I have had this I have had at least 15 power failures and it has never failed to let me do an orderly shutdown.

It does not power using the batteries like most other UPS's. It regulates power directly from the mains. When the main power fails the battery automatically takes over.

Probably the best investment you can make to protect your computer. A simple surge protector is just not good enough, you need a UPS.

Experience: 1 Years
Simulated sine wave was the second biggest draw for me, the first being its rated capacity. Rock solid for over a year and handling every surge, spike and brownout with ease. Only one blackout and it held for over 5min to safely shut the computer off.
No coax protection and relatively short battery runtime, but still and excellent value.
NCIX should be recommending these for every builder and system buyer. There isn't a better bang for the buck in terms of system stability and security, even if you're using this on your home entertainment system. It's also one of the few that's rated to handle close to a KW of power usage.

During a blackout, I'm sure it can power a laptop and a cable/DSL modem for two or more hours. Just food for thought.

The closest APC competing UPS is about twice the price.

Good price compared to other UPS
Doesn't come with a USB solution
I had a difficult time getting this to communicate with my PC. The UPS communicates using an RS232 serial port. I was hoping for a USB solution, but eventually found success with a good serial card. I tried Opti-UPS USB cable, but could not get communications. Then I tried an nGear USB-COM bridge adapter - no luck. Finally I bought a StarTech serial board.

-Serial connection is outdated, requires USB conversion cable
Got a good deal on pricematch and free shipping, good UPS for the price. Haven't had an power outage yet but I hope it performs as it should. Only thing that I don't like is the serial connection needed to the PC (mine doesn't even have the port) but I knew about that and still bought it.

It works?
It doesn't get too hot
great power/price ratio
COM port instead of USB
currently i have it powering a 32" HDTV, my PC, and home theatre speakers. what can i really say? it works. i haven't had a power outage yet to really put it to the test, but so far, it's handling a pretty decent load without so much as a hiccup.

it's only slightly warm to the touch, too. i've heard of other UPSes getting really hot, or even leaving singe marks on floors. for a relatively high-power UPS, it runs pretty cool.

the only complaint is the COM port to hook up to your computer. seriously, when i took it out i stared at the cable thinking "have i ever seen this kind of port before?" before thinking WAY back to my very first PC. yeah... that port died a long time ago. USB would be infinitely more useful.

Great UPS, my first one so far and it was a breeze to setup.
Software cd does not come with vista
Over all a good UPS for its price, but ill really know when i need it in a black or brown out. So far does what it says.

Affordable price, high capacity, not-bad looking
Uses ol' COM port, dead heavy, and gives loud beeps.
I don't know much about UPS, and this is my first one. Not much to say as this is exactly what I expected, super heavy (could be heavier than your computer) and well, at least feels rock solid.
The software is moderate, I've heard some other manufacturers makes better software. Nevertheless it works like any other device.
So far the only downside of this UPS to me, is the COM port. My new desktop doesn't even have a COM port, but my laptop's docking station has one so I'm monitoring the UPS from my laptop.
Also, I'm using Vista, and although the software included on the CD says NT/XP/2000/2003 it installed on Vista without problem.

good price, above avg battery life
none so far, dont forget to buy a serial to usb adaptor.
I just bought this from nicx, charged it up and it works seamlessly with my Enermax Galaxy psu! I was thinking it might not after reading some topics on this ups that Enermax active PFC psu's do not like simulated sine waves but I do not know why Enermax's site says that.. it works fine.

Great buy.

Works just as it should.
Fits nicely on my desk beside my monitor shelf.
Not entirely the fault of the UPS, but the only way to connect this model to your computer is through the RS232 port, as there is no USB port. (Although the software installion instructions say to connect with one...) Have to purchase a USB to Serial adapter, so can't give input on the software until that shows up.
Overall, for what you pay, this UPS gets the job done. If I wanted anything better I'd have to get a True Sine UPS, and those cost around 3 times as much as this unit, so I can't really complain about anything.
It is a heavy unit, but there's no way around that, and so I don't view that as a fault of the product, but rather a fact of life.
Only thing I'd change is adding a USB port in there somewhere, as many newer computers do not come with serial ports.
