Pros
Cheap Gigabit and N wireless combo
Cons
Some features do not work
Summary
Actually the router I had before this one was also a D-Link and its power supply quit too after a couple of years (lightning suspected). Since I was very satisfied and comfortable with the D-Link setup, I bought a new DIR-655 instead of replacing the power supply.

Pros
Internet run smoothly and quick
QOS enabled allow me to be able watch live stream while playing online games
Cons
Wireless loses connection at times
Summary
I bought this router because on a budget and I am pretty happy with it so far, I have 3 brothers who like to watch videos a-lot and with QOS setting enabled, I am able to play my games lag free and still able to watch their videos without it stuttering.

Pros
Works out of the box but is also easily configured.
Cons
Three antennas but unit is still stricken with short range due to being a single band router,
Summary
Although this is a good router, right now you can buy a dual band WD900 on sale for $79, or spend more and go all out with a higher end ASUS RT-N66U. Idiot proof and more power and range.

Pros
Cheap, works for the most part
Cons
Easy to overload it, must experiment with firmware
Summary
If you're a little careful, this router is all you need. We regularly have two mobile phones, two PC's, and XBox, and an iPad hooked up to it and don't have any problems.
I tried various firmwares with it, and most of them make it unstable (e.g. must reboot every hour for one, another automatically reboots it every hour). I use 2.07NA.
For BitTorrent, you lose your DNS lookup when you use over 200 simultaneous connections. Go to your BitTorrent configuration and put in a limit, and you're good.
So, it misses 5 stars because of the various trial and error that I had to go through to get it working. Once I got it all figured out, though, it's been stable and works as advertised.
If cash is a serious concern for you, this is a good one to get. Otherwise, I'd consider the more expensive ASUS based on the reviews.

Pros
Nice and elegent look. White clean. Enough strong to broacast  trough the wall of a normal house. Stable wifi speed. Sharing settings is simple and verry effective. I always buy D-Link and every product is nicely build.
Cons
Not dual band...But for that range price it's totaly normal.

A really good choice to have something strong, powerfull and fast, without paying over 100$.

The quality/cost ratio is very good

Pros
Nice setup and configuration
Cons
Looses connection
Summary
It's a nice router but not very fast and looses connection, needing reboot. I recommend best of breed refurb Linksys or Apple Airport extreme. Get 5GHz if you can to avoid interference.

This unit is great and easy to manage. Using it for a home solution is great.

The only problem I have had with it. I would definitely recommend to family and friends to buy this.

Comment: An indisputable advantage of the DIR-655 is that it has a Wi-Fi Alliance certification, which means it is an almost 100% compliant IEEE802.11n device.
