Bought this router 2 days ago, and spent 3 HOURS!!!!! trying to get it working with my Shaw High Speed. Could not do it. Even worse, it would screw up when enabling wireless, and that would take me 10 minutes to re-set, or get it back to working.

I used to have DD-WRT on a linksys WRT54G-V5 and that died.I read good things about this router so I bought it. It works great with Tomato and the QOS and bandwidth tracking features are nice. The QOS is essential if you do P2P and VOIP on a connection with limited bandwidth. This router is also capable of MLPPP with Tomato.

This is probably the best budget router you can buy. It's cheaper than the WRT54GL and has the same hardware almost. It's always been stable and I have 30Mbps internet. Downloading is always constant with Megaupload Premium. I own 2 of these and 1 WRT54GL and if I ever need another router, I'd buy another WL520GU

Bought this router because my old dlink router was acting up. I flashed this router right away with teddy_bear tomato, and its working great. Still trying to figure out how to get print server working, but i have not tried long. Make sure that if you flash, you downgrade firmware first to pre 3.0. Use this link and follow instructions. Very good router, very easy to setup with stock firmware. You can install DD-WRT or Tomato firmware, enable MLPPP with your internet provider (TekSavvy) and avoid throttling. You can use the USB port to plug your printer or an external hard drive and use it as a media server!

Didn't even look at the stock firmware. flashed with dd-wrt and is currently running as a wireless print server and access point for a couple of workstations. Works like a dream, and looks slick mounted on the printer stand! dd-wrt was a bit of a pain (no printer server support with the default flash, had to enable jffs2 and install the printer server package manually), but certainly worth the effort.

DID NOT WORK WITH SHAW OUT OF THE BOX. YOU HAVE TO FLASH FIRMWARE TO TOMATO OR DD-WRT. AFTER THAT THIS ROUTER WILL FLY. YOU CANNOT USE THE USB PORT AFTER THE FIRMWARE FLASH.
