used to power an old system with amd x4 old cpu, ddr2 and low end video card for a workstation does the job very well, i mean it's not like a $500 powersupply

I was looking for a cost-efficient power supply for a mainstream gaming computer I was building. The VX550W was an excellent choice at this price (59.99$), as it's a reliable power supply and it supports pretty much anything (other than 400+$ GPUs, I suppose).

Bought this to upgrade a friends old computer, was enough power to handle an older 3870x2 that i threw in his pc to give it some life. No problems, Got it on special even better deal.. he is happy that was the goal. For PSU always buy quality.

This power supply was reviewed as a solid unit with considerable upside to it when it had come out new. It has been on the market long enough that this wattage is beginning to be insufficient for the power user systems, but it works for me with an Intel i7 2600K (slightly overclocked), 16 GB RAM at 1600 Mhz, ASUS GeForce GTX560 Ti 448CORE, SSD drive, SATA3 drive, 2 optical drives, and 4 fans from the case operating. I am very pleased with my system and this power supply has not caused any troubles to date.

This is probably the best bang for the buck. I bought this for 60$ and it runs perfectly. The packaging is on par with their professional HX series. Both have the white bag to cover the PSU and both came with ties and the Corsair sticker. Runs silently.

I'm just about to replace this PS with a new one because I need one with at least 650 Watts for my new GPU. I thought I had better write a review first. I've had this thing for 3.5 years, running 3 different builds, overclocked two different CPU's and it's been an absolute trooper. Always trust Corsair products. It's always been quiet, cool and steady. Sad to see it go. Buy this PS for any situation unless you're running more than one GPU.

Picked this up for $60 with pm to replace my toast coolermaster psu that was making a high pitch noise, First off I love this power supply the price to performance is very good. I was able to do a lot of cable management with the long cables, the sleeved cables are gone very well. Runs cool and quite. Recommended to any who needs a mid range psu for budget build.

Great psu at the price powers a amd 6 core x6 1055t no problem with 8 gb of ram and 5 fans and a ati 5770 video cardlove it. it would be nice if it was had mod cables on it because it was a bit of work to hide all the cables

Product Warranty
First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the 3 year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Corsair's DRAM memory modules all carry a lifetime warranty. The Flash Voyager, Flash ReadOut, TurboFlash, Flash Survivor and Mini Flash products all have a warranty for the expected normal life of the product (10 years). The Flash Padlock has a warranty of 3 years. The HX, TX, and VX Series of Power Supplies have a 5 year warranty, and Liquid Cooling products carry a one year warranty. In general, this means Corsair products are guaranteed to operate, as specified by their datasheet, and in the operating environment for which they were intended, for the life of the product or the extent of the warranty.
