Had this running for about 2 years and it's awesome. Every game I throw at it plays excellent. I overclocker this to 3.2Ghz, and still keeps on going strong.

Summary
this cpu is a beast. If you got a core 2 set up and don't feeling like investing in an i5/i7 with DDR3 ram this is a no brainer. It keeps up with i7's no problem with most tasks, espcially gaming. This cpu also runs very cool and overclocks like a champ.. Because of my mobo i was only able to get 3.4 but do a quick google search and people hit 4.0ghz no problem on air no problem.

I can burn movies, play battlefield bad company 2, listen to music and encode a movie all at the same time without issue (i tried this as soon as i got it to see if i can push it).

well worth the upgrade. got it for about 250 bucks.

Pros

amazing value, super fast, overclocks easily form 2.8 to 3
Cons
none
Summary
This is great value for the money.. I was about to buy a quad AMD for $180, when I found this one for $250 or so.
Man, going from Intel Dual-Core 3.0Ghz to this one (better architecture, and quad-core), things were flying. I could do a lot of things a the same time. Run some encoding using 2 cores, and do some other heavy interactive work, without feeling much of a delay. VMWare/Virtual box also fly with this thing.
Haven't tried games though.

Pros

4 physical cpu cores
fast
easily overclockable
relatively cheap
Cons
not an i7?
Summary
Got a brand new E0 stepping for ~$200 recently after selling my old e8400 for over $100, so it was a fairly inexpensive upgrade. I primarily use my computer to game, and more and more titles were taking advantage of quad cores.

Got it OC'd to 3.8ghz on 1.24v under a TRUE-120 with a Noctua fan. According to Real Temp, core temperatures range from 28c-35c idle and rarely break 50C even after 12+ hours of Prime95 small ffts. Could probably push it over 4ghz easily.

Should give my 775 rig at least another year of life and offers plenty of gaming performance until the new Sandy Bridge CPUs debut.

Pros

Performance, overclockability, price on sale
Cons
Less bang for your buck than a Phenom II
Summary
Got this for a client, they're satisfied so far. Overclocks like a champ. Made all the difference in GTA4 compared to a dual core.

Pros

Overclocks to 3.8GHz on water, under 45C under load.
Cons
Core 2 and 3 report 35C all the time when the other 2 cores are between 25C and 45C.
Summary
Benchmarks are equal or higher than some of the newer i7 Processors I have no real complaints about its performance and since I have upgraded from a AMD 3700+ 2.2GHz single core it is a massive performance gain and with 6gb of DDR2 and a EVGA GTX 260 I am able to play all of the latest games. When I bought this cpu around a year ago I was able to price match it to $249.79.

Pros

It's fast and reliable!
Cons
could be a little bit hot with the stock fan
Summary
I overclocked this baby to 3.4Ghz with stock fan running at auto. I got 50 idle and 78 full load. Replaced the fan with cooler master cm 212 plus and artic cooling mx-3. Problems gone. Dropped the temperature to 36 idle and 50 full load.
