An excellent means of pricing down a X58 motherboard that still holds most of the features of similar products priced $400+.
PCIe configuration.
This board does support 3-way SLI and Crossfire, however, if either or, even in dual form, are of interest to you I would probably look else where. The EVGA X58 SLI LE is an excellent board with a ton of great features and flexibility, but it is also designed for those people with budgets for boards sub-$300. In other words, it is an entry level enthusiast board, and it does a great job of including a lot for relatively little coin.

If you already know you want to run more than one GPU, look elsewhere. This board will rock the socks off any single GPU user and they'll be glad they bought it considering the money they will save.

The EVGA X58 SLI LE is an excellent board that will be the perfect fit for many people looking to jump on the i7 gaming bandwagon. It does not pretend to be the kingpin and thus should not be looked at as such. This board is an excellent entry level product that I can easily recommend to anyone getting into enthusiast building.

Triple SLI
Correct positioning of connectors
Not much in the way of extras included except for SLI bridges and SATA cables.
I just put a core i7 930 build in this mobo and I'm very happy with it. EVGA did a great job of packaging and giving you a great manual as well as board map. Everything was easy to install in it. I love the right angle SATA connectors and the postilion of the power cables. All the Front panel connectors were easy to hook up. The only thing I don't liek on this board is that the PCIe lanes are 'locked' so they don't adapt speed to where you put your cards.

A myriad of OCing options
Well built and looks good
LED on board with post codes and, when booted, temp readout
6 Phase Power Design
6 SATA connectors that support RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5, JBOD
On-Board Reset Button with Integrated HDD Activity Light
On-Board Power Button with Integrated Power Light
Power and CMOS reset switches.
CMOS reset on back panel.
EPS power connector location - dumb, dumb, dumb
Some caps really close to chip socket
Passive cooling on NB
A bit pricey
This is my first EVGA board and, from what I've seen so far, it won't be my last. MB manufacturers seem to have come light years with the enthusiast crowd. For instance, It blew me away that this board had a CMOS reset button on the board AND the back panel. What a thoughtful detail. No more jumper BS!!!! I was also impressed by the fact that there were power and reset switches on the mobo. But not only that, the power one lights up and the reset one flashes for HDD activity.

It's not all sunshine and lollipops though. For one thing the EPS (or 8 pin 12v) power connector is in an incredibly stupid place on this board. Take a look at a closeup picture of it and you'll see what I mean. Try hiding cables with that abomination onto the Lord. You either come up from the bottom and route under the NB cooler or you come from the top and TRY to route under the mosfet cooler...if you have a long enough power cable.

Another issue you may encounter is that with a large heat sink or water cooling block (Apogee XT) you may come awfully close to touching or actually touch the caps that sit WAY TOO CLOSE to the chip socket. That's just stupid design. To EVGA: Keep EVERYTHING away from the chip socket guys! You don't know what coolers people will be using.

And as someone mentioned already; this is a 250-300 buck board and they only give you 2 SATA cables. That's cold!

Because of those issues I can only give the board 4 stars but I don't hesitate to recommend it to the enthusiast who wants all the performance but can give up some of the bells and whistles of it's higher priced brothers.

-sexy as hell (yes, I'm shallow)
-awesome Phoenix BIOS
-E-LEET tuning utility
-overclocks well
-PCIE electrical speeds (see below)
-EPS and audio connections in awkward hiding those cables
-2 included SATA cables with a $300 motherboard?? ...come on guys
-SmartFan BIOS utility doesn't work
-Did I mention the PCIE electrical speeds?
I made the mistake of buying this board the week it was released when most sites listed the PCIE slot speeds as x16/x8/x8/x8. It turns out that the slots actually run at fixed speeds of x16/x8/x4/x8. This means that most SLI users are stuck running their cards jammed together in slots 1 and 2, covering the sole x1 PCIE and PCI slots and leaving about a 1/4" for airflow between the cards. For kicks I tried my GTX 260s in slots 1 and 3... temps on card 1 dropped almost 10 degrees, but my Vantage score dropped from 20,500 to 19,200. Why EVGA would choose to make slot 4 run at x8 is beyond me... you can't put a dual slot card in there anyway (the card would have nowhere to vent in most cases, and it would block access to the USB/firewire/power & reset connections along the bottom of the motherboard). Those extra 4 lanes would have been much more welcome in slot 3 to allow for proper x8 SLI or tri-SLI. This board does overclock well (3.8 with a D0 without even really trying), but multi-GPU users should look elsewhere.

- Looks absolutely stunning
- Great features like tri-sli with dedicated physics card
- lots of USB headers
- onboard power/reset
- onboard POST codes, that turn into the CPU temp when it's running
- Stupid place for the front panel audio
- Only 2 SATA cables
While this board is jam packed with features for an amazing price, you can see where they saved money, on the accessories. You only get 2 SATA cables (bare minimum) which is kinda stupid when your paying 300 for a board. and another stupid thing is the placement of the front panel audio. It's right above the 1st PCI-e all the way to the far left, so the audio cable has to stretch across your board, making to look sloppy.

Other than that, this board is feature packed, has a terrific BIOS and runs very stable!

Comment: EVGA X58 SLI LE Review

Comment: Great review, guy reaches 4.0ghz with a TRUE Copper and this board. Also a good conversation about the bandwidth between the PCI-E lanes, being 16x/8x/4x/8x. Definitely worth a look!
