Pros -Good card for home theater and supporting light gaming.
Summary -Was looking for a video card for HTPC to drive 60" plasma, needed passthrough for bluray and support some casual fps and action games. This card is doing fine, temperature stays low; however, this does come at the cost of more noise. May have to look into aftermarket coolers in the future.
Pros - Best price/performance GPU out there at the time of posting ($120 after MIR) - Very nice custom cooler by ASUS, quality products and very reliable company. - Does not consume a lot of power, making this compatible for most people even with weaker PSUs.
Cons - At this price point, no complaints.
Summary One of the best midrange graphics cards for a budget gamer. Best bang for buck
Summary Bought this almost two years ago and still am able to play most games at either max or very high or high settings. It is however getting to the point where it is out dated however, for a value priced card, it performs quite well. You will be able to run most new games and very good settings.
Pros I bought two of theses right off the bat. Tested with and without CFx and performance increase is roughly 1.8x as suggested. Does depend on game, so see no increase, others is huge. Running these with 850w PSU no problem.
Summary Great value. For a ~$200 card, I'm quite impressed.
Pros Price, performance, value, best 6850 for the money has as good if not better cooling than ice q cooler and all the other high end coolers and you get that at the price of the reference designe directcu cooling is awesome read summary
Summary For the price card can't be beat at stock settings i get: runs crysis on very high 25-50 fps (i prefer high 30-80fps 1080p 4xaa) Rift on Ultra settings 25-60 fps everything else has been 30 fps +
on idle card stays between 39-44 C
on load never passes 70C usually runs between 59-65C ambient temp (18-26c )
IMO there's really no point in getting anything better than a 6850 at the moment runs pretty much everything on high and when it cant anymore CROSSFIRE which will be extremely affordable when prices drop in the next 6-12 months (my guess comparing it to 5750 prices 100-150$ range)
Summary Bought this version because I really dislike the stock cooler for the HD6XXX and HD5XXX series(rattling fan). Very quiet, even at high fan speed, and runs most games I throw at it on very high settings (DA2, BF:BC2, SC2).
Summary i must say this card was a great success. for the price it jsut cant be beat keeps up with my 470 no problem. I can max out some games at 1080p and its super quiet. im a big fan of non blower cards so its a great card for the money and performes just as good as some 400 cards :D
Summary As of May 2011, I found this to best the best bang for the buck mid range card you can buy. After having one for a couple of weeks, I loved it some much that I ordered a second one to put them in Crossfire! DirectX 11 support is there and it's 1GB of DDR5, you can't go wrong with this card!
Pros Best card in this price range Great performance Great scaling (add another for efficient CrossFire) Keeps cool (especially compared to my HD 4870)
Cons Fan is quite noisy. It becomes very noisy if at > 50% fan speed The HD 6870 went on sale for the same amount the next week (not it's fault though =) ) Mail in rebates suck
Summary This is a great card; it can play all the latest games just fine. ATI has the best value right now. I think I'll go Nvidia next time if it's a close competition because of the better support for games (HD series has problems with Crysis 2, etc.) This card performs very good with CrossFire also.
With a score of 9.5, this is a positive review.
"If you are looking for the best price/performance in the sub $200 segment then the choice will be between the HD 6850 and the GTX 460 768 MB. Both cards overclock very well, the most notably difference being CUDA/PhysX support on the GTX 460 and vast
