Solid state drives require no defragmentation, and support the Windows TRIM command. The S510 provides vibration-free running and low power consumption, while taking full advantage of the 6Gb bandwidth transmission capability.
What is the Windows TRIM command optimizing component?
If your computer is running the Windows 7 operating system, the Windows TRIM optimization command can directly delete stored data in the Flash memory and release unused space (Free Blocks) to be used for system writes immediately. This results in more accelerated transfer and write performance for solid state drives, and is also effective in slowing down efficiency decline and depletion chances, maintaining effective operation and extending the life of the disk.
Powerful and Free Software Solution to Eliminate Reinstalls
All purchasers of the S510 can download the free Disk Migration Utility software. It facilitates the quick transfer of all files to the new solid state drive, significantly reducing the troublesome and time-consuming process of reinstalling software and restoring data from backups.

Notebook Pack The S510 Notebook Pack allows you to easily upgrade your laptop computer with a premium solid state drive, while using the original hard disk as an external drive. To make use of the S510 as an internal disk drive for your laptop, simply remove the existing hard disk, and install the S510 into the laptop drive slot. Install the old hard disk in the case provided, and continue to use it as either an external or portable drive. It also comes with a 3.5-inch conversion bracket to help you mount the S510 when you are upgrading a desktop computer.

I bought this as my boot drive in my first build and I am extremely satisfied. I would probably buy another one of these is i make a new build soon.

I got this drive to upgrade a small slow hard drive in an old netbook I am giving my daughter. I couldn't give her something that is old and slow so this was just the ticket for it. Sped up the Lenovo S10 to a significant degree as the hard disc drive was its choke point. Anyway, the drive was installed and Windows 7 loaded with no issues. I've used it quite a bit over the last three weeks and it has been rock solid stable.

this SSD was on sale for $80 and I jumped on the opportunity to finally get a SSD hard drive for my desktop. I tried the Hard drive as a internal drive in the PBO core media player, but found that the playback and read wasn't that better than using a USB external hard drive. But overall, my computer is booting up pretty fast now, more like under a minute.
