Pros
This thing overclocks really well. Easily up to 4.0GHZ on a decent heatsink cooler.
Great performance on multitasking
Max temps about 60 degrees celcius
Cons
None
Summary
2 years later, and this CPU hasn't given me any reason to upgrade at all. Works great. Low temperatures. Idles around 30 degrees. Low power usage.

Pros
really fast. can handle anything you can through at it with ease.
Cons
price?
Summary
I upgraded to this cpu from Q6700 2.66 quard cpu. I noticed a huge difference in performance right away.
I have no regret purchasing this cpu.
I would recommend this cpu to any with the bugget and who is a gamer. Its pretty expensive but the pro's to getting a good cpu is it will last longer. You wont have to worry about upgrading as much. i'm guessing this cpu will last me a few years.

The I7 series cpu's are Beastly cpu's! :P

Pros
Fast, easy to OC.
Cons
stock fan is weak.
Summary
For some reason intel ships their 'K' unlocked processors with a teensy little fan and heatsink. I am using a corsair A50 for a cooler and have it set to run at 4.5 GHZ. Under full load it reports at between 40 - 42 degrees C.

You should be able to hit 5GHZ with a more powerful CPU cooler.

I got mine for $320 and it came with Mass effect 3, and tribes ascend starter pack.

Very happy with the purchase.

Pros
- Super fast
- Super quiet
- Runs very cool. Rarely breaks 40 degrees gaming in 1080P
Cons
- None I'm aware of
Summary
I decided to go with this over an i5 as it was only $309 at the time. Happy with the purchase. At stock my machine is running wicked fast, gaming in 1080P is very smooth (with a 560ti) and it runs VERY cool and quiet.

Pros
-Runs cool
-Overclocks very well
Cons
-Price
Summary
Overclocks very well, I have only had it for a few days but have gotten it stable at 4.8Ghz, and a very respectable temp of 52C under full load on prime 95.

No complaints other than i can;t get the drivers for the integrated GPU to install, but not a big deal.

Pros
- stable
- great overclock capabilities
Cons
- mine is only able to reach 4.4 ghz max oc. (although I havent tried to crank it up even higher because I got a problem with my chip at 4.5)
Summary
Intels my favorite when it comes to durability and performance. I purchased this cpu a few monthe ago and I am quite happy about it. It has nice temperature when overclocked with my noctua u-12p.
if I had to buy another cpu, I'd go with intel again.

Pros
With quad core, it is fast!
Low temp!
Cons
Nothing with the chip but the heat sink that came with it look kind of cheaply built
Summary
Overall I am very please by this chip. It was the time where I upgrade from a core 2 duo to this baby. I use a lot of graphic programs so I notice the processing speed significantly increased in rendering or video processing. Got it from a bundle deal so it was a very great price for this much power!

Pros
Top of the line Sandy Bridge!
Efficient, Fast and cool temps!
Hyperthreading for heavy tasks!
Cons
None!
Summary
Normally I buy AMD CPUs for the better price/performance ratio, but this time I though I would splurge and pick this baby up! This is one high performing chip! I use lots of applications that are heavily threaded so the hyperthreading is what sold me on getting the 2700K over a 2500K or 3750K. I also chose the Sandy instead of the Ivy because of the lower temps! Even better was the price at $300 so I couldn't resist! These Sandy Bridge chips are also great overclockers on air so it'll allow me to have that extra "umph" in the future when I need it!

I highly recommend this chip! *Drooling* on my benchmarks!

Comment: The new highest-end chip in Intel’s Sandy Bridge line, the Core i7-2700K has all its predecessor’s pluses and minuses—but offers only a slight increase on its speed.
