Additional hardware (e.g. Blu-ray drive, HD or 10-bit monitor, TV tuner) and/or software (e.g. multimedia applications) are required for the full enablement of some features. Not all features may be supported on all components or systems - check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies.
- AMD Eyefinity technology works with games that support non-standard aspect ratios, which is required for panning across multiple displays. To enable more than two displays, additional panels with native DisplayPort™ connectors, and/or DisplayPort™ compliant active adapters to convert your monitor’s native input to your cards DisplayPort™ or Mini-DisplayPort™ connector(s), are required. Support for six simultaneous displays may require complementary products compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport. Maximum number of configured displays may vary - check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies. SLS (?Single Large Surface?) functionality requires an identical display resolution on all configured displays.
- AMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL™, DirectCompute or DirectX® Video Acceleration (DXVA). Not all products have all features and full enablement of some capabilities and may require complementary products.
- AMD PowerPlay™ and AMD PowerTune are technologies offered by certain AMD Radeon™ products, which are designed to intelligently manage GPU power consumption in response to certain GPU load conditions. Not all products feature all technologies – check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities.
- AMD HD3D is a technology designed to enable stereoscopic 3D support in games, movies and/or photos. Requires 3D stereo drivers, glasses, and display. Not all features may be supported on all components or systems – check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies. A list of supported stereoscopic 3D hardware is available at http://www.amd.com/HD3D.
- AMD CrossFire™ technology requires an AMD CrossFire Ready motherboard, an AMD CrossFire™ Bridge Interconnect (for each additional graphics card) and may require a specialized power supply.
- Utilization of PCI Express 3.0 bandwidth requires a mainboard equipped with a PCI Express 3.0 PHY. Not all mainboards feature this technology – check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities.
- Projected AMD CrossFire™ scaling based on analogous GPUs from previous generations of AMD Radeon™ products.

Uses very little power while idle
Very loud above 50% fan speed
Excellent card, have had it for a month with no complaints. Gets solid 60FPS in Skyrim with the Bethesda HD DLC pack + Skyrim 2K. Haven't tested any other intensive games (as I don't play FPSes) but I imagine it'd be equally great. Definitely recommend this card.
Experience: 2 Weeks
-Lots of room to overclock, but you won't really need to unless you run games at high resolutions or ones that are heavily modded.
-Card stays pretty cool even when overclocked.
-Looks neat, to me at least.
-Easy to install and register for warranty.
-Reference cooler blows heat out of the case.
-Loud! Once the fan gets above 30% it's clearly audible. 50% sounds like a jet engine. I expected it to be loud since it is a reference design, but not that loud.
-No adapters. Unlike many other companies that at least included display port to HDMI adapters with their 7970's this one doesn't come with any.
-Only 2yr. warranty, unusual for XFX who always had double lifetime warranties with all their cards.
All in all it's a great card. I would recommend getting an after-market cooler for it, like the Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 7970 or wait for quieter non-reference cards to be released, since it is pretty loud, but that's just me. I like my PC to be as quiet as possible.

-Not as loud as HD6970
-Using updated catalyst 11.12 driver, AMD should've released the updated 12.1 driver with the release of the card.(Minor)
I have been gaming with this card for approx. 2 weeks. Bought this card the day it was released and I am loving every minute of it. I upgraded from an HD6970 to this and I don't regret my choice. This card runs very smooth, and doesn't get as loud as previous generations. I have always been an AMD/ATI fan, and I will continue to be. I believe that this card is worth the upgrade, especially coming from anything before the 6900 series. You won't be disappointed.
