Pros - Aesthetics - Price of a (partially) back-lit mechanical keyboard
Cons - Does NOT with ASUS (AMD 900-chipset) motherboards - confirmed by CM Customer Service - have e-mails to back it up.
Summary Having done my research I was hoping that I would not be the one stuck with a non-functioning keyboard; well, I was not. The keyboard works on (2) machines I tried it on except the CoolerMaster based system with an ASUS M5A99X Evo motherboard. CoolerMaster's Customer Service confirmed that the keyboards do have issues with ASUS boards. On a postive note, the keyboard did work on a custom build with an ASUS P9X79 PRO mobo and a Toshiba Satellite laptop - both Intel based systems. Sadly not the systems where this keyboard was suppose to go.
Pros Good Bang for your buck. Mechanical, partial back lit, matte black, and full keyboard.
Cons Larger sized keys such as space and enter makes a slight springing noise after being hit.
Summary I was looking for a mechanical keyboard as I enjoyed playing SC2 on my friends' DAS keyboard. I have a laptop so I couldn't justify spending $130+tax on a mechanical keyboard so I got this keyboard for around $101 taxes included. So far, I have been extremely satisfied with my keyboard. Within the week I got my keyboard I was worked my way from mid platinum to high diamond. I think it gave me GOSU APM.
The back lit keys are bright with several modes to adjust to your preference and it looks so GD sexy with the matte black finish. It sits a little higher than I'm used to but I was using a laptop keyboard before.
If I had to nitpick I would say that larger keys such as space, enter, shift, etc make a springing noise after you tap it hard. I wear headphones most of the time so it doesn't bother me at all. Aside the from that the brown switches are a dream to type on. I was going to go with the blue but I wanted to be able to play while my gf is sleeping and not have her wake up =P
In conclusion, this keyboard is a GREAT if you're looking for a full mechanical keyboard with sexy backlights and colour scheme without shelling out too much.
Pros Price Brown Switches LED Backlit (well some) Non-glossy finish (doesn't get as dirty easily)
Cons Keys aren't as good as a higher end keyboard (Das, Filco, etc)
Summary Bought this while it was on promo for 79.99. I must say, this is a fantastic keyboard. I've always been a fan of Cherry MX Brown switches and this is the cheapest I've seen a Brown keyboard. I love the matte finish and the selective LED Backlighting.
Pros - sturdy construction - Cherry MX Brown keys - smart, sharp looks, doesn't look like a toy like other mechanical gaming keyboards - NKRO with USB is rare
Cons - keyboard sits slightly high, may be awkward for people with small hands - not fully backlit, backlighting only for Esc, F1, F2, F3, F4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Q, W, E, R, A, S, D, F, Z, X, C, space bar, arrow keys and function key + F12 when locked
Doesn't bother me, but might bother others: - branding all over the keyboard - no "gaming" frills like extra macro keys and usb / audio ports
Summary I wanted a mechanical keyboard with MX Brown keys, and this was the one I settled on.
I tried several of the Razor and Steelseries mechanical keyboards, but they either were too big or used mechanical key types that I didn't like like the much too clicky Blues and excessive force-needed Blacks.
The CM Quick Rapid Fire keyboard was nice, especially the removed numpad, but it had no backlighting.
The CM Storm Trigger was too big and I didn't want extra macro keys. Plus I use Autohotkey for macro's anyway.
So I went with the Quick Fire Pro and so far I'm loving this keyboard. Because of the MX Brown keys used, it's not as loud as other mechanical keyboards. If you're coming from a rubber dome keyboard it may take some getting used to, but once you do, it really is a joy to type and game on this keyboard.
Pros Well-built and sturdy Partial LED N-rollover function Practical for typing and gaming Cherry MX switches Light-to-touch keys Offers good grip
Cons Sits higher than most keyboards and may get uncomfortable without a wrist-rest.
Summary When I saw the hype about the new CM Storm Quickfire Pro Mechanical Keyboard I knew it would be the perfect keyboard for me. I wasn't disappointed. It lacks macro switches, but they're not a necessity for my gaming needs.
Everything said, this is one of the best keyboards I've ever used, and if I didn't care either about dedicated media keys or the macro keys, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. At $99, the QuickFire Pro is very well-built, performs extremely well, and is a joy to use. Oh, and in case it matte
My time with the Cooler Master QuickFire Pro and the Brown switches which it uses was a pretty pleasing experience. The keyboard was built pretty solidly and took a fair share of pounding as my twin daughters has their time on it trying to be like daddy. I played several front person shooters while
Equipped with high-grade CHERRY MX switches, laser engraved keycaps, “Gaming Cluster” backlighting with user changeable modes, and an unheard of N-Key rollover in USB mode, QuickFire Pro, the choice for serious gamers. It supplies what gamers need to gain the edge in today’s gaming scene by enabling faster key presses and response times and a detachable high quality USB cable makes travel easier than ever. The competition begins and ends with the QuickFire Pro.
