Experience: 6 Months
Pros
4 Cores
Hyper threading
Unlocked for easy OC
Cons
none as of yet.
Summary
I've loved this core since I purchased it. Have it on stable OC at 4.9Ghz with a corsair H100i and it holds 58 degrees under load. Very sweet chip.

Experience: 1 Years
Pros
- Fast
- Stable
- Very high overclocking capability
Cons
- Other than it cost a bunch, it's really worth it!
Summary
I've bought this for the first gaming rig I built almost a year ago and it haven't failed me yet. Tears apart any tasks/games I throw at it!

Pros
Stupid fast
Tons of processing power
Cons
Expensive
Summary
Runs incredibly smooth and plays Far Cry 3 like a champ on ultra settings.

Pros
- Amazing Processor
Cons
- None so far
Summary
Got this processor on October 2012 for $290 (was cheaper last October/November compared to now).

Does every task I give it with no problems. 4.2Ghz and 40 degrees C after 2 hours of gaming looks good to me (using Cooler Master hyper 212).

c$290 when I got it a year ago.. it was the best choice. However, if you are only gaming and are tight on budget then you don't need anything more than a 3570k or equivalent.

Detecting bad sectors on 1TB HDDs using this CPU takes 2 minutes compared to laptop i7's which was at 10% after 30 minutes.

Experience: 8 Months
Pros
Powerful CPU that is more than adequate for gaming.
Cons
High temperature.
Summary
The temperatures for my particular chip are slightly higher than I am comfortable with. After a mild over clock to 4.4 Ghz, temperatures were hitting 85 Celsius in Prime95. Temperatures in games are 70+ degrees. (Using Corsair h100i cooler)

Pros
Bon prix en pricematch à 319.99$.
Très performent.
Bon potentiel pour l'overclock.
Hyperthreading pour l'encodage vidéo.
Cons
Refroidisseur OEM inutile si on pense overclocker ce CPU.
320$ c'est quand même cher payé pour un processeur.
Summary
Pour un système servant à faire de l'encodage vidéo ce processeur est une bonne affaire malgré les 100$ de plus que le 3570K qui lui est orienté pour le jeux. Un bon achat.

Experience: 1 Years
Pros
- OC'd to 4.5 GHz on a UD5H with a H100 cooler easily
- Very fast
Cons
- Very expensive
- Doesn't support some virtualization features that other processors do
Summary
Went from a Q6600 to this beast and it was night and day difference. The amount of processing power is just absolutely phenomenal. The 8 threads of execution just absolutely chew through everything you throw at them.

great performance and overclocking
Cons
none,got it on sale
Summary
great performance stock and easy to overclock for more

Richard_T

Experience: 2 Days
Pros
the fact that it isn't an i5
Cons
none that I can see
Summary
My buddy said go with an I5, why waste another $100 on a chip that is the same speed as the I&. Most of your games won't use the hyperthreading, nor will the 33% more cache be apparent. The 1mhz difference between an I5 and I7 is negligible.

So I listened to my buddy and ordered the I5 and when I went to pick it up.... I had a change of heart...

It is only a $100 more. In comparison in 2007 the next increment for a processor was more then several hundreds of dollars.

For $100, I am pretty much guaranteed to have the top of the 1155 processors at this time. This will also mean that photoshop will enjoy my 4 hyperthreads even if my games don't. The extra 33% more cache will ensure that my test programs that gives me an index number will always be 33% more then an I5

and lastly I heard that an I7 will overclock more readily then an I5. If not, at least I have 1mhz more then a stock I5.

So for a $100 more, buy the I7; at least you will never regret your decision where-as if you buy an I5, you have a 33% chance of regretting your purchase....

Pros
Lightning fast
Improvement over 2600k
Doesn't overheat!
Cons
none
Summary
I was always told that Ivy bridge got really hot. I've got this baby up to 4.7GHz on STOCK voltage on a Maximus V Formula. I am, needless to say, very impressed. The quicksync perk is awesome too:D

Comment: The Intel Core i7 3770K 'Ivy Bridge' processor may require a bit more cooling than we previously needed on the Intel 'Sandy Bridge' product stack. Though the 3770K is still a great processor that easily pushes past 4.5Ghz and with a little tweaking 4.7GHz-4.8GHz is quite achievable!

Comment: While Ivy Bridge isn't really bringing any ground-breaking innovations to the mix, it's still a nice update  from Sandy Bridge, bringing USB3 support, lower power consumption and update d graphics to the mix.

Comment: If you’re looking for a new platform, Ivy Bridge is a solid choice providing better efficiency than anything we have seen.

Comment: For those who are still using an older socket processor (Socket LGA775, LGA1156, or LGA1366), the Ivy Bridge upgrade is definitely a big step forward in both the power consumption and performance.
