Summary people are saying these are quiet, but i think theyre forgetting that these only max out at 1200 rpm, not 1600 like other "noisier" fans. i actually have a 1600 rpm fan in my case that's a bit more quiet (got it for 2$ on ebay too...). but at around 1000rpm, these are quiet (just like every other fan at 1000rpm....).
They're not super loud, but for 1200rpm theyre pretty loud.
also, they got two really ugly warranty stickers right on the center of the fan. remove and warranty is voided. guess what i did? i removed them. ha.
Cons Solid corners make the use of rubber grommets impossible
Summary I used four of these to fill out all the fan slots in my Cougar Evolution case. I can now control the fan speed of both intake and exhaust from my front panel. The fans are surprisingly quiet while still keeping everything cooled properly.
Pros cheap bundled price, good fans for the price, adequate airflow
Cons comes only in black (I believe this is for NCIX only), no screws, non-sleeved, no 3 pin to molex connector
Summary I normally purchase yate loons whenever they go on-sale but at the time of this build, the yates were at regular price and since this bundle was almost the price of a single YL, I took the chance to try them out as well.
The grooved fan design seemed to aid in increasing airflow (although I do not have a quantitative way of actually measuring it). It does seem to do an adequate job at pushing (or pulling air). Installed a pair in an old case that was notoriously "noisy". The case came with proprietary hard plastic cages for the front intake and rear exhaust fans. These cages seem to amplify the vibrations of the fan to the chassis. I had no way of mounting the fans to the chassis directly since there are no mouting holes that line up. Drilling new holes was out of the question since the case's grills were actually bigger than the fan. Anyway, this turned out to be a pro since the cougars seemed to work quitely and without the usual vibrations and the same plastic cages meant that I didn't need any screws.
Overall they seem to be a good purchase and a viable alternative to my favorite yate loons. I've yet to see how they hold up in the long run.
Pros great price to performance ratio, moves a lot of air
Cons no screws included
Summary i got these to replace my 200mm fan on the corsair 600t and these move a lot more air the the stock fans. the fans are also quiet and dont make a whining sound at high voltages like the stock fan.
Pros Almost silent, great air flow, look high end.
Cons Cable not sleeved, screw mounts are not "open" style so you can't use silicone mounts
Summary Great fans for the sale price, they look very well build, not flimsy like some cheaper brands. For the output they are almost silent, especially when you consider the price. I wish the mounts were open so I could use my nice silicone mounts but ah well, totally buy again (on sale).
