You have to update the system for it to work well, otherwise its very laggy. I'm using android XBMC and it works really well from streaming my home medias to XBMC. The video playback quality in comparison to my ATV 2 is so much better. I got the M3 version.

Ships with Android 4, but the experience is too slow and laggy to keep running it that way. A Linux upgrade is easily available, and takes less than 5 minutes to install. Once Linux is installed, it's like night and day...menus don't lag, everything pops right up when you click it. I wouldn't have bought the bundle if I had known the Sense remote didn't work in Linux...now I have a useless remote that I paid $20 or so for. :(

I've owned this box for over a month and at first I was very disappointed at first because running XBMC on ICS gave me choppy results for most of the plugins. I then upgraded to the Linux build and had no problems with choppy video.
It's a really cool idea and the price is right, but sadly this really isn't anything other than a development device. I'll keep playing with it and I knew it was a gamble as far as purchases go, but I imagine that someone that didn't might be rather unhappy.
This thing is a pretty good idea of a system, but the instability was unbearable. Constant crashes make the most basic function barely usable. Maybe in future updates this will be fixed.

Software is buggy. In some cases unusable. Choppy video, sound won't start for several second or minutes after video. No 5.1 audio out. Service is e-mail only and takes days to answer. They say the problem is HDMI switching out of my AV Receiver, but I have a top-of-the-line Yamaha which works fine with both my previous media players. FYI sound does work OK if HDMI out is plugged directly into TV. Return policy was exchange for same only (when I bought it) so caveat emptor.
