WinTV-PVR's Pause feature gives you control of what you watch in your WinTV
window. Get personal "instant replay" to stop the action when you
want to analyze a key scene. Instantly rewind to any point and replay the action
again. You're in control with WinTV-PVR! Ever been called to the phone, had
to answer the door, or went for a snack and missed the big play? With WinTV-PVR,
you'll never miss the action again. Just click on WinTV-PVR's "One Touch
Pause" button to pause your TV show, click again to continue watching where
you left off. Then skip through commercials as you catch up to the live broadcast.
Record your home videos and TV shows using high quality MPEG and play them
back on your PC screen, your TV set, or home DVD player! The WinTV-PVR-350's
Record button allow you to record your TV shows or home video to your PC's hard
disk and play them back at any time. Then use your PC's CD-RW burner or DVD
burner to create Video CD's, S-VCD's or DVD's*, with up to one hour of TV video.
Video CD's can be played on your PC or laptop computer, or on your home DVD
player (see our web site for a complete list of tested compatible DVD players).
Record TV show episodes to CD-RW disks, and then watch them on your laptop when
you travel. Or play them through your DVD player in your living room.
Is your closet filled with bulky video tapes? WinTV-PVR can put your home videos
onto DVD or CD-ROM instead. Five DVD's (with 10 hours of high quality video)
or Video CD's (with 5 hours of VHS quality video) can be stored in the space

WinTV-PVR-350 uses a new integrated hardware MPEG-1/MPEG-2 encoder and decoder,
the IVAC015,which compresses your videos 100:1 whithout slowing down your PC's
processor and while providing great on-screen video quality. WinTV-PVR-350 can
record full screen TV using 2 GB of hard disk space per hour.
The integrated MPEG hardware decoder can take your recorded videos, and play
them back onto a TV set. This is great for turning your PC into a digital video
recorder!
With WinTV-PVR-350, you can also create Video CD's, saving up to an hour of
video on a single CD-RW disk and playing them on your home DVD player. You can
also create S-VideoCD's, which allows up to 1/2hour of MPEG2 quality video on
a CD-RW disk.
If you have one of the new DVD+RW or DVD-R burners, you can record your TV
shows (or home videos!) with WinTV-PVR-350 and burn them onto DVD. The WinTV-PVR-350
has been tested with MyDVD, DVD-It and ULead's DVD MovieFactory, popular DVD
burning applications.

Pretty satisfied with this little unit when I was using Vista 32bit. When I switched over to 64 bit, I couldnt find any on the web. The hardware itself is quite good. Picture quality is nice. No real problems other than the whole driver situation.

Exceeded my expectations, I dont think you could beat the advantages of this card for the price. Used this card for a home built security camera system, works very well. Connected to a 3 camera system to record video to an external harddrive.
Easy to install, and fast, within a few minutes I had it up and running in my desktop computer.

Bought this to record tv shows as I work nights and always seem to miss the few shows I actually do watch regularly. With this and a large hard drive you can record quite a few shows without worrying about running out of room before you either erase or burn the shows to DVDs. I lucked out as I bought this before the dollar plunged, so saved myself even more money.
Only problem is that it does take some playing with to get it to the way you like it and I am not sure if it is my dated PC that causes the program to freeze when flipping through channels or if that is an inherent flaw of the card.

This does exactly what it is supposed to do. I now have cable on my media pc. It wasn't the greatest thing to set up. After some reading online, I'm appalled at the lack of 64 bit support Hauppauge has for its products. I planned on buying another for my main rig, but due to its 64 bit incompatibility I'll look elsewhere. I just don't trust these guys to release and maintain a set of drivers for a new or old product.

I got this to build a linux MythTV box. It works really well, once you get it working. This is one of the best supported video capture cards for linux but it can still be a struggle to get it going. I found I had to compile the ivtv drivers from source, I never did get the ivtv package available for my distribution working 100%.
Card itself is good, captured recordings are very good, you can't tell a difference between recording and live TV, when using TV-Out. The biggest disappointment was fact that it's not possible to play DivX through TV output, at least according to Hauppauge tech support.
And you will need third-party software to fully utilize the card (like GBPVR). Supplied bundle is not worth much.
