Summary
Instead of taking a chance on eBay, I was able to get the same price (or better!) from NCIX. I installed this card into a Dell Inspiron 5100 and it works fine. BTW, this card works fine in a non-Centrino notebook (like the 5100).

Good price/performance value, easy to install on Gateway Laptop but need some tricks to have it work on TOSHIBA satellite 1130. The pins 11 and 13 have to be covered by a tape (even pins are on the bottom side, the odd are on the top where you plug the two antenna in.) Although the laptop's switch won't work, the card is indeed able to send and receive signals. You can turn wireless on/off by intel 's software which is easy to use.

Heat generation. Slower communication speed when sending signal to AP compared to downloading from AP. Intel's support does not exist.

Summary
Overall it is good. Not sure whether Intel could provide a solution to customrize this card to any laptop, particularly TOSHIBA satellite model. It is not helpful at all when trying to solve my problem by talking to the TOSHIBA tech support.

I installed this in my Dell 600m and Dell C400 and they worked without issue. Installation was a breeze and work flawlessly with my wireless network at home (Linksys G router) and at school (B network).

Summary
I suspect the problems noticed by the other user are due to bad APs; I think I've seen that once or twice, resetting the AP did the trick. Overall, one of the best internal wireless cards there is. Highly recommended.

Summary
Currently installed to an Acer Travelmate 802LCi.
Installation was a breeze. Update BIOS, unscrew bottom, remove old card, insert new card. Install drivers, install Intel software, restart. Everything works.
Problem, while signal quality remains at 60-90%, the speed goes from 54 mbps to 1 mbps or 5, or 11, etc. It'll hang on at top speeds for awhile, then all of a sudden drop like a rock, and bam, goes to a crawl.
Streaming DVD movies through the network really highlight what it does. Stuttering, Pauses, Complete stops at time, but after positioning the antenna on the AP more, I was able to achieve a better signal, but the speeds still drop suddenly.
Searching online, I found other people have come upon the same problems, and no complete solution has been found, but of course, some people have no issues at all.
If I knew these problems were there, I might not have purchased so soon, but I'm hoping a driver update will improve this.

While the connect speed keeps varying from 54 - 1 mpbs, the statistics indicate approximately ~70-80% of the data is transferred at 24mbps.
