I purchased this with a build from ncix, and I had mixed results. The sound is earmeltingly great with an optic cable, but I can't seem to get 5.1 with the current drivers. I am using a home theatre setup with pro logic 2, and I am getting no sound from center or the two rear speakers (sub is working fine) I have not really played around with it enough to declare defeat, so I can't really get upset. For the price it is very satisfactory.

If you like to listen to music, this card is great, especially at a price like that. However, if you're into gaming, go with Creative's cards, simply because they support EAX. Also, if you have normal speakers, you won't get much out of the card. Overall, a good buy.

Great Media PC sound card! Bought this on recommendations from friends to install on my Media Centre for my TV. I was looking at higher priced cards but this one had the optical output I was looking for.

pretty good for the price. picked this up cuz i didnt want to spend $100 on a sound card. its better than my onboard audio so im happy. i think i my speakers even go louder now for some reason. i didnt have any problems with drivers like evry one else so i dont know what there talking about. i installed it and powered back up and vista started looking for the drivers itself and found and installed them so no problems there i didnt even use the stupid disc. overall good purchase no more hissing and crackling form my speakers when not listening to music

I have this card running for about a year and half connected through optical to my receiver Yamaha 7.1 HTR-5960. I listen MP3/ WMA files in high bit rate (+300 kbps).

This sound card is actually way better than I expected. There is no way you will find one better than this at this price. My music sounds a lot better than it did before. I would recommend this sound card to anyone who loves good quality music and don't want to spend much $$. Oh ya, at first when I installed driver from the cd that came with, the sounds were all messed up. Then went and got the lastest driver, everything running 100%. Yeeeeee!

This is a great sound card for someone who wants to improve over an onboard solution but not spend too much. I bought it for use in my HTPC, mainly for the optical out, and it sounds great.

A great little sound card. The box isn't very full, but it includes an optical cable and an adapter. Setup is easy and quick.

I bought this card not only for its quality ppl have been talking about, but also for its interface. I put it with my HTPC as I would play movies and music from this machine throught my receiver using optical connection. LOVING it!
