Bought this around 5 months ago for my new rig, and was a little disappointed with the noise it produced inside my case. If I didn't have the sound blaring from my speakers, this hard drive would drive me nuts. Other than that, I have nothing else to complain about : it's a great hard drive, fast, and I would recommend it to others, although there are some higher-capacity drives for cheaper now.

For the money this is a very good deal it will run quite well in a case with not the greatest airflow and help keep the overall temperature of your case down. Popping 2 of these into raid 0 will definately give you a boost, the fact that it has NCQ will help in the future so you dont have to worry about it being completely obsolute in a short period of time, plus it has its 5 year warranty just in case which is a definate insurance marker. Overall I recommend this to be one of the best hard drives for the price.

109.99 was the best price in Canada and the value per GB was the best compared to the 120gb and 200gb SATA seagate drives at the time i purchased this. I was going to get the 120gb, but the 160gb was only 13 more.

Bought this drive for a new system and I'm quite happy with the performance of the drive. SATA is good, NCQ is good, 5 year warranty is great...the only downside to this drive is that although its not exactly loud, its also not that quiet. My 160gb samsung spinpoint beats this for noise hands down.
