I picked up this board as an exchange for an ASRock S939 board that caused nothing but headaches. From the start the A8N-E has worked flawlessly. For gaming it's probably not the best choice but for my purposes - general productivity, surfing etc - it's almost perfect. The onboard audio is limited but that's to be expected so I did install a decent audio card. Also because I need as silent and reliable a PC as possible I replaced the chipset fan with a heatsink.

I bought this motherboard a week ago along with a new HDD (WD Raptor X 150gb and a Geforce7950GT) and I must say, it's working great. The only thing I am having a hard time is with my Sound Blaster X-FI Gamer. It is a know issue by creative and Asus with that particular motherboard and there is no ETA on a fix. Other that that isolated case, it is a recommanded motherboard !

Known heat sink problem that Asus will not fix nor replace the part for you. I had to order my own heat sink replacement and install it my self. Other then that, I love the motherbaord. I have been using it for over 2 years will enough other hardware attached to it with no problems other then the one with the heat sink.

This is my second build with this board. Stable, easy set up,good overclocking abilities. Both builds were with 3700+ and run very fast for single core. I replaced the chipset fan before I installed the motherboard as from experience with the stock fans they are chainsaws. I used the evercool and the vantec iceberq for replacements. Both retaining tabs had to be ground down in order to clear capacitors and fan header..happy so far

My friend bought this board for his new system and it worked great. Right out of the box it worked, all the drivers for the SATA hard drive were there and the install was flawless. Board is a great board, I've had the A8N-SLi which is the big brother to this board. ASUS also has a great warranty even if your chipset fan dies, which it shouldn't, they'll replace it free just call them.

Honestly, this was maybe the second system I put together. Board is great, I have a lot of space around my 1900XTX, which is a pretty big card. I've have no issues whatsoever yet. Works great. The only downfall of this board is that the older bios versions don't support AMD X2 dual core chips. For the most part, these aren't being made for S939 anymore anyway.

Like most Asus boards this unit installed, posted and booted up to Windows MCE just like it's suppose to do. I installed an Opteron 144, 2 x 512 OCZ Platinum EL 2/3/2/5 memory, Seagate 320gb 7200.10 SATAII drive and a 7600 GT OC graphic card. My last 939 build was with as Asrock motherboard that required the installation of it's SATAII controller drivers during the Windows install, so not needing to do that with the A8N-E was nice. Although, the speed of the same Seagate HDD was a bit faster on the Asrock board.

Bought this board about a week ago, installed it with ease. Secondary IDE port doesn't work though. Caused a few headaches since my IDE HD was bluescreening and couldn't reinstall windows because I couldn't hook up a IDE HD and cd-rom at the same time. Good thing my roommate had a Raptor just lying around. Returning and I am now buying a SLI Premium and another 7600GT for SLI. Good entry mobo but I would recommend getting a mobo that supports sata2 and SLI.
