Experience: 1 Years
Good value for the quality
It's a tad outdated for present-day gaming
I've had this Cpu coupled with a Chaintech vnf4 ultra for a year and a half. When i added a gig of ram and a Soltek 6600gt OC i could run all new games, my favorite being Bf2.

Experience: 4 Months

It's an AMD
A good little processor that was easy to install and beats the Pentium I have at work. Would buy again.

Experience: 10 Months
good performance, runs great, good value for money
can't think of any
When I built my first computer I wanted AMD, and I had a relatively cheap buget (<$1200) This cpu fit in perfectly with what I wanted, AMD makes it simple, this was my first and won't be my last.

Experience: 2 Months
Very overclockable, cheap
at stock speeds is a bit outdated now
Very happy with it, overclocked as high as 2600mhz, would go with the AM2 version if your motherboard supports it. If you don't plan on overclocking and are buying for gaming, would look at something a bit more powerful.

Experience: 1 Years
Very Quiet and cool
Easy to overclock
I bought this item one years= ago and I can play the lastest games
Not very powerful
1800 mHZ of bus in a Socket 939(normally 2000 mHZ)
This CPU is a very very good deal for the price. I can play the lastest game(Titan Quest, Oblivion, etc), do a lot of programming task quickly and I can easily overclock it to 2,2 GHZ with a nforce 4 chipset. Very good deal!

Experience: 90 Days
It's AMD, It's $133.85CAD, Overclocks like a dream.
None whatsoever...
What can I say... 2600MHz = 4100+ 47 degrees on full load in July... Why would you buy anything else?

SiSoft with x64 and Crucial Tracer Ballistixx DDR500 RAM says...

CPU Arithmatic = 12807
CPU Multimedia = 19359/30003
Memory Bandwidth(Have to throw it in because of the Athlon64's built in memory controller) = 6608/6608

Great price
Low temp. ( Stock cooling )
Very overclockable
Overclocked to 2.4ghz with 1.45 volts, temp. rarely goes over 30 C while under load (Arctic Freezer 64 Pro), going to try for higher OC when my PCI-E motherboard arrives.

Low budget, good performance
None to my knowledge
I've heard these 3000+ to be one of the best CPU's for overclocking... I havn't tried yet. I bought this for a little budget PC that doesn't need overclocking anyways... I'm very satisfied with this one, as all other AMD products

Nice and stable. Can OC well (If you want to). Works like a charm and does not have a surface temperature that rivals the sun.
Only 3000+, so if you want the latest greatest and biggest this isn't for you.
AMD says it all. I had a Celeron once, the key word being 'once'. Once I used an AMD I never looked back. I read up a lot of reviews before buying this CPU and they all said the same thing. An AMD 3500+ is basically the same as a 3000+ but at a higher voltage.

Now you can probably OC a 3500 past what you could a 3000, but you can easily OC a 3000 to the speed of a 3500 (or higher if you are lucky and/or good) for a fraction of the price. At the time of this review a 3500+ is $232 and the price of a 3000+ is $133.

AMD Athlons have always been reliable, 64 bit is a bonus for when 64-bit O/S's become the norm. It runs just fine on 32-bit O/S's, though.
Heatsink can be tough to latch on to the mainboard and lock down. Care must be taken not to damage the CPU. Also comes with a thermal "patch" on the heatsink.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? The Athlon series has been around a while now and I've never heard much bad said about them. The socket-A models always worked great, it is a shame they're going through so many new socket iterations all at once - 754, 939, 940, and now this AM2 thing. I think the 939's got life left in it but it looks like 754's are going to be the red-headed stepchild in short order.

As I stated in the "weaknesses" those thermal patch things aren't all that great. Arctic Silver's website states that you should remove the patch entirely BEFORE USE (a plastic ruler to scrape it off, gently, followed by wiping with a paper towel along the 'grain' of the metal, will do the trick) and then replace it with Arctic Silver, about the size of a large grain of rice will do. Don't use heat to remove the patch, though, or it will melt on to the metal.

If you're a hard-core gamer or whatever, you probably want to replace the stock heat-sink entirely, anyways, but it is certainly adequate for normal use, and should be retained for warranty purposes anyways. According to the instructions on the box use of a non-stock heatsink voids the warranty on the chip.
