Image Quality
Wicked stand
Quality, Quality, Quality...
...I had to pay for it...:p
...well, I've wanted this li'l baby since she took her first steps out into the world and now she's mine, finally...everything is just superb; contrast, colors, image quality, no ghosting (and yes, I tested it with Oblivion...if it don't ghost there, it won't ghost)...on a black backdrop I can see a slight hint of bleeding from the edges, but it isn't really noticeable unless you look for it...I'd have traded in both my kids for this monitor; actually, I wish NCIX woulda taken them anyways...:p

...a SIX star option; you can't go wrong with this baby...;)

Experience: 30 Days

nice contrast ratio, sharp text, full 16.7 million colours, good viewing angle compared to TN panels
X pattern backlight bleed, colours can look a little washed out
Well I got this monitor as a replacement for a 940bf with a few problems. I really wanted something nicer as I wasn't really impressed with the 940bf in the first place. This has much better desktop performance, much sharper and the screen is for the most part uniform unlike the last one which was brighter in a large area of the screen. There is some backlight bleeding in the corners but I got over it. Colour looks spot on with the SRGB colour setting if only a little too bright making it washed out and unfortunalely SRGB disables contrast/brightness. All the other colour temps are off including 6500k. I've defaulted to SRGB until I can get one of those calibrators. Other then the backlight problem
which is a lot less noticable then some other lcds I've had and the colour a tad off this is a great monitor that is professionaly built and really smacks of good quality. Well worth the extra money compared to other 19" LCDs.

Experience: 8 Months

Video Games: Almost the best for clarity, its crystal clear and no lag/ghosting at all, compared to many other monitors this ranks as top 5 for video gaming (VX beats VP)

Graphic Designers/Programmers: Amazing performance, when you want to fix up a photo in Photoshop using the Hue/Saturation ,method or if you just want to make something look cool, this screen would be the trick. Viewsonic Pro Series are made for that kind of work, its soothing on the eyes, it doesn't alter any colors like most of you have probably figured out that you cannot use any LCD monitor for Photoshop/Illustrator. I have it, and I havent regretted it.
None really, I know someone who bought this monitor and it had 2 dead pixels on the screen, no matter what you do, dead pixels will happen so just take it like a man and pray it doesnt turn your screen into a flashy disco ball.
In an overal performance this monitor beats almost any other monitor out there, its pricy but its well worth it. Lanning is a blast with this monitor as well, and wether you play the oldest games like Quake I, or the latest games like FEAR or CS:Source/WoW, you'll get high performance out of this.

contrast ration is excellent, rotation ability of screen is great, comes with dvi cable, no dead pixels
screen rotation software has a few bugs, had to ship first monitor back as vga ports quit working after two days.
Monitor is used mostly for CAD, web browsing and some gaming. In Autocad the contrast is unreal fine lines stand out so well it almost looks 3d. Have not noticed any ghosting when gaming. Tried watching a few movies to see how it was and they looked great. We have a new Neveo at work and Viewsonic 924 and I like the 930b better than both of those.

Experience: 1 Days

Contrast ratio. Good motion clarity in games.
Not calibrated properly out of the box. The stand takes to much room.
My previous LCD was a 712N samsung. It's specs are 17" screen, analog, TN, 600 contrast, 300 brightness, and at 12ms.

So is this monitor an improvement? The answer is yes.

On the desktop the only real improvement is the size. Its nice to have the extra space. Makes reading text alot easier on the eyes. But seriously thats it on the desktop. I find that the clearity of text either stationary or when scrolling is the same as the 712N.

In games this monitor is a noticable improvement. The contrast difference struck me right away. I can see things I couldn't with the 712N. Which suprised me because I didn't think I was missing much. I classify ghosting and blurring differently. To me ghosting is when i see a double image of an object moving. Blurring is when moving objects go out of focus. Ghosting on either monitor wasn't a problem. But blurring was getting on my nerves with the 712N. It it only happens when your moving forward and look side ways or when characters run from left to right in front of you and vise versa. On the Vp930 its much better. No its not perfect but I notice a good improvement.

Out of the box the color calibration is horrible. Expect to manually adjust the color. I found 6500K to orange, 9300K to blue and 7500K pretty good but not good enough to leave along. sRGB? What the hell. Its way too bright and you can't adjust brightness or contrast with it on. To me sRGB is useless. This monitor is to red and green. After manually adjusting, its where I like it. White now looks white.

One real complaint with this monitor is its stand. Its too big. I mean, the selling point of an LCD is it takes little room on your desk. But viewsonic decided to make a stand that makes the screen stick out like 5" from the base. I'm not happy about the stand.

I would have given this monitor 4.5 stars if it was priced $500 or less. I paid $610 and feel its not worth that much, even though, I like the monitor.

Comment: Even if it's not significantly better than the 191b, the VP930 is an excellent monitor, at home in just about any application, that trades a slight gain in black level against a slight loss of latency.
