Summary I bought this keyboard a month ago and picked another one up for work as well. It is absolutely amazing. My hands used to hurt from 8 hours at work and then a few times a week 2-5 hours at hoke playing games. The keys are great and amazing price helps as well :)
Cons -The period and N keys had to be pressed in just the right spot for them to register. I had to cut up pieces of a pen cartridge and stick them between the keys and the rubber material.
Summary This is a great keyboard for anyone who spends any amount of time typing. The wrist rest is really comfortable and the layout feels completely natural. The space bar was somewhat sticky for the first few weeks but it's loosened up now(or I've just become used to it). My only gripe was with the N and period key which didn't register unless you made an effort to push the key down completely.
Pros Smooth keys, comfy palm rest, much less noise than its predecessors
Cons It's not available without system...
Summary As a person who uses a keyboard all day, every day, I must say that this version of the Natural "ergonomic" keyboard is the best I've used.
While I still love my Natural Elite, it is extremely noisy and has sharper edges around the keys which sometimes makes the fingertips a bit sore. This version eliminates that problem entirely with chamferred (sp?) or slightly rounded edges.
The keys are really easy to press compared to the Natural Elite and Natural Multimedia. My Natural Multimedia at home is starting to suffer from sticky keys, and the one I just gave up at work was nearly unusable due to the pressure it required to record a keystroke.
I'm not sure why people are upset about the 6 being on the left side of the split, as all "natural" keyboards I've used have the 6 in the same spot, though I suspect none of those people have ever used a split keyboard before.
The shape of the board has changed only slightly from its previous versions, and will not really be noticeable if you're accustomed to the MS "Natural" or "Ergonomic" keyboards.
Overall, the feel is fantastic. I love the padded palm rest and the fact that it's black. Why doesn't Microsoft start making these type of keyboards a priority? Why is it so hard to track down a good keyboard? Why does NCIX not list the standalone keyboard.... as opposed to both of the "with system only" listings?
This keyboard should be more commonplace in all work environmens, so that when I goto job sites, I don't have to suffer like I have (I now bring my own keyboards to work, but shouldn't have to).
Summary I recently switched over to this keyboard and I am pleasantly surprised with it. It is extremely comfortable and has lots of great little customizing options. It's also very affordable and I love using it for gaming. Oh yeah, the calculator button is extremely useful too. :)
Cons back/forward buttons, as well as zoom buttons are pretty useless.
Summary This keyboard fells well made, I like the slightly soft feel to the keys, and it keeps the wrists at that all important neutral position. Having a normal layout to the keypad, arrow keys, insert/delete etc is nice. They even have the standard ctrl commands printed onto the front face of the keys should you need the reference for those. (copy, paste, find, etc..) The F keys all have alternate commands that work in microsoft software (new, open, close, reply, spell check, are a few examples). Those features are only moderately useful though, and i've never used the forward, back, and zoom stuff at all... that's what a mouse is for! the only other issue is that the keyboard is fairly wide... about 20 inches, and if you have a narrow gap for a keyboard tray, on its lowest setting the back edge is about 2 inches high.
Summary So far this has been the best ergonomic keyboard I've used, replaced my old Microsoft natural and there is a big difference. I like the padded area and the keys have a nice feel to them, the quick launch buttons are helpful as well. Very nice keyboard, just which you could buy it separate.
