Pros
-setting to adjust the display, dramatically increase visual quality.
-snappy response time
-perfect picture quality
-bright, vibrant display
Cons
-Can run pretty warm
Summary
I bought this monitor for my new gaming system, and, simply put, it's bloody amazing. The image quality is ridiculously better than that of my older displays. To anyone who buys this, make sure to set the picture mode to dynamics, you won't be disappointed.

Pros
-Excellent contrast ratio (though I don't really obsess over contrast ratios)
-Glossy screen is easy on the eyes
-Swivels easily yet stays in place
Cons
-It seemed a little heavier than I expected. Maybe because I had to lug this thing around on bus from Burnaby to Port Coquitlam
Summary
I've been using this monitor primarily for computer games, but I like how it has HDMI input for when I get an XBox 360 or PS3 next week. 1920x1200 puts the average HDTV resolution to shame. Only problem is that I need a better graphics card and processor to play games in 1920x1200. Great monitor though.

Pros
Decent monitor for the price
Cons
Two dead pixels
Summary
Two dead pixels: blue pixel, one all color pixel. I should have stuck with my usual of ordering Samsung monitors.

Pros
Vibrant colour, 8 bit panel, pivot stand, and 3 year warranty.
Cons
Noncomputer inputs have improper 4:3 aspect ratio. Random blackouts on one of the monitors. One of the stands is not 0 degree on Landscape(detent position), the left corner is 6 millimeter higher than the right corner.
Summary
BenQ and NCIX stand behind what they sell. I give them credit for that. This monitor is an example of a great idea gone wrong. It has all those extra inputs, but they cannot do proper 4:3 aspect ratio. It is already EOL for this monitor and there is no fix in sight. Buy this strictly as a computer monitor and you are alright.

Pros
Gorgeous picture. Solid construction. Very good response times with little-to-no input lag. Great colour out of the box. All the ports you could want, minus one.
Cons
Button placements a little awkward. No height adjustment despite the monitor being able to do portrait mode. USB port cover on the top flimsy. No displayport. Two stuck pixels :(
Summary
This panel is beautiful. Having seen it vs. the Dell 2408WFP up close, this monitor beats it hands down. The finish on the panel is unique from what I've seen as well, kind of a cross between a glossy and matte. It's more matte than glossy, but still shinier than what you've normally seen. I'm of a mind that it helps the colours to pop - on that note, I didn't have to touch the settings out of the box, it was already great.

Especially vs. the Dell, a big deal is input lag. This monitor has half as much (if not less!) than the dell panel for some reason. Flawless for gaming, though getting used to the huge real-estate in front of my face made for a little bit of motion sickness at first. I loves me my team fortress 2 though.

As I stated, the button placement is on the right side of the monitor. A little difficult to manage that in a dual-monitor setup - I prefer a bottom orientation as if you have both monitors close together and are using this as your primary, then you have to move one just to access the buttons. Since the monitor doesn't have a height adjustment, either - not sure why that was chosen for the design. On the plus side, this monitor has a great swivel! Solid construction. Was not worried at all that the panel would come loose or something bad would happen despite the split panel/base design.

I had two stuck pixels, stuck bright red right next to each other. Ran a java-based pixel fixer available for free - changed it from red to magenta - but at least it was no longer visible on black... only white. Luckily I bought the thing with express coverage so I'm hoping the replacement has no issues. For a normal person it would not have been that bad I think, but I myself was bothered by it.

Overall: the *best* monitor I'll have ever had the pleasure of owning, and that was a tough act to follow as my previous one was the NEC 20WMGX2.

Pros
great picture
solid stand
holy god it is bright. awesome for movies.
Cons
button placement
cable management
Summary
this is a beautiful monitor. the stand is solid, the bezel is thin and clean, the colors are great out of the box, the preset picture modes work well, and best of all i got no dead pixels.

i just have a couple of small complaints:

-the buttons are on one side of the screen, the usb ports are on the other. this means that if you want to dualscreen these, you can't get to the ports on one and the buttons on the other.

-the stand has a cable tie on the back to keep things organized, but there is no clean path to route the cables to it. you end up with a couple of visible cables under the screen

-the stand locks into it's lowest position, and the unlock button is hard to reach. this means that if you are adjusting your monitors height or angle frequently, you have to be careful not to push it all the way down.

Pros
Great picture quality
Stand is sturdy
Cons
Got one dead pixel
Summary
Picked this baby up to replace my old 19" CRT. Boy, I am pleased with it. Only have one stuck defective red pixel but its not that noticible. The stand is sturdy, there are tons of inputs, including HDMI, and the picture quality is great. Too bad they discontinued this line or else I'd pick up another.

Pros
-Amazing colour
-Hardly any fading when viewed from the side
Cons
None
Summary
In all the reviews I read about this monitor, the one complaint everyone seemed to have was with the buttons being on the side. Personally, I think this is a great place to put them because it means you don't need to put any text on the front of the frame which leaves it looking very simple and elegant. Plus, after using the monitor long enough, you begin to remember where each button is without having to crane your neck around to the side.

The colours on the monitor are simply amazing. They gradiate almost as perfectly as they would on a CRT.

This thing is absolutely huge, even sitting in front of it 6 weeks later I'm still amazed by its size.

It's really quite sad how good quality MVA panels are becoming harder to find these days because people are willing to sacrifice high quality for a couple hundred dollars to buy a cheap TN panel.

Pros
- No dead pixels
- All the colors are there
- Wide visibility angles
- Can rotate in portrait view
- All kinds of inputs
Cons
- Colors are a bit flat compared to what I had with my FP241VW
Summary
This monitor was the first to offer all kinds of inputs on a quality panel for a bargain price. The recent addition of TN panels have made this monitor less interesting because the 24 inches TN are an improvement over the 22 inches, closer in quality to the MVA panels.

Pros
MVA panel
Sept 07
Easy to set up and move around
Cons
A few bad pixels.
Summary
This is a great monitor. Too bad there are only open boxes left. Anyways, I only had 1 dead, 1 stuck pixel, and to be honest, it is hard for me to notice them in games/movies. The picture quality and viewing angles are great. I love how easy it is to turn the monitor without moving the base.

Comment: BenQ has pumped out a fantastic product at a decent price point, and it’s to be commended for the effort. Now allow hardware one-to-one scaling, make the base heavier and move your buttons to the front, and you have yourself a perfect product and a hot award coming your way.

Comment: The BenQ FP241W is a great all-round monitor. It will easily work well with gaming but has the versatility to adapt to any video signal you can pump into it. The only complaints we have is the exclusion of a speaker system and the price tag which, while consistent with its competitors, is still quit

Comment: What's not to like? Using this over the course of a couple of weeks, it has become an indispensable part of my desktop. If you're looking for a 24" monitor to buy, this is the one to go for.

Comment: trustedreview.com Doesnt seem fully impartial as it grades the screen perfectly and reports just abouts no flaws, but its still the first review. Focuses more on design and functions than performance.
