as i said earlier, it works great for what it does. didn't have problems installing on a 5 year old computer. Windows XP was able to detect it with its proper drivers installed. A bit pricey on its regular price. I have to pricematch it just to get the cost lower.

Card works great but was not very easy to setup under Gentoo. IDE and ESATA port are not really useful in my opinion...

I only purchased this to mod xbox 360s and it gets the job done well so I cannot complain. This and the other red one both work but my previous via cards sata port broke off beyond repair making me buy this one.

I had a bit of trouble getting the device to work at first, but it seems to have been resolved after a cable swap. The old cable, which was 80-wire, worked with this drive when plugged into the motherboard but, for whatever reason, refused to work with this IDE controller at full speed. I swapped out the cable and now all is fine.

Installed the nGear SATA adapter (SKU 20136) on a socket 478 motherboard (without onboard SATA) on a Windows XP system.
Drives Used: Seagate 7200.11 TB drive and an ACOM eSATA external drive. Initalized and quick formatted drive into a simple volume (no partitions) on a Vista 64 system (with on-boarad SATA) using the Computer Management Tool.

Bought this to flash my MS28. Worked flawlessly. Beyond this I have not since used the card so I cannot really say if it is a good sata solution.
