I got this to replace the stock passive NB heatsink on my Gigabyte 650i mobo. The stock one is a massive copper piece, but this makes a huge differece. With my e4400 at 3.0 Ghz, the stock temps used to idle at 55 degrees celcius, and under load it would go to over 80! Now it idles at 40, and never sees over 62 degrees under load. The only problem I can see is clearance is tight with my Kingwin RVT12025, so if you have a heatsink bigger than that you may have an issue.

This thing is amazing. It lowered my northbridge temps by 15-20'C at idle from a whopping 63'C to 35'C compared to the original EVGA 680i heatsink without the super loud fan installed. You have to get this, it lowers temps drastically which preserves system life and increases performance.

I use this as a CPU cooler on my N4L-VM DH motherboard with an intel T7400 chip. Does a great job especially using the fan from the stock cooling solution. I used it with arctic silver 5 and it dropped my temps by 10-15 degrees

I got one of these to replace the stock fan and sink on my Chaintech VNF4 Ultra because the fan started to annoyingly loud. This cooler looks really great; too bad I don't have a windowed case. As for performance, it seems to work quite well on my non-OCed system. I don't have a temp sensor on the nForce4 chip itself, but the mobo sensor shows low temps and it feels cool to the touch.
Bought this for my aging KT400 system which had a small heatsink and 40 mm fan. After having replaced the fan a couple times, and constantly having to oil it and put up with it's annoying grinding noise, I decided to replace it with a passive cooler. Installation of this was a breeze and once attached it felt quite secure. System is stable and running well. Unfortunately I don't have a temp sensor for my chipset so I don't know before and after temperatures, but I'm sure this is probably better performing than the stock setup. Very happy with this cooler and I will purchase it again in the future should I ever have another board that doesn't come factory with a heatpipe cooler.

I love this chipset cooler except the fact that the little plastic pins kept on popping out on my mobo. I substituted them with the original gigabyte cooler pins which worked great. I am glad it fits nicely together on my 965p-ds3 with the freezer 7. I strapped on an 80mm fan and it's not even warm to the touch. I just wish the base would be a little bit thinner so it wouldn't almost break my chipset. Anyways if you put the MINOR problems away, it's a great cooler!

I love this thing! My chipset was getting very warm (MSI P6N SLI-FI) and I wanted something passive but effective. Thhis cooler is amazing and it takes up less footprint than the stock passive heatsink. These are a must buy!
