Overall, for the money this is worth every penny. Few people know that it accepts numerous types of connections including 2 optical. I use the optical with an envy digital sound card and get superb 5.1 digital from downloaded videos. Sound quality exceeds what I have heard from 1000 dollar+ sound products. I would definitely buy this product again and plan to do so for my parents when I setup a home theater for them. Buy it! Buy it!

For the sale price this speaker package is hands-down the best deal out there. At first I was considering the Logitech Z-5500's, but I am soooo glad I didn't go that route. The 5500's are high end computer speakers where the Spherex are actually home theatre speakers.
I've set these up in a bedroom, and also a large living room, and the result is great in both cases. They need a bit of tweaking though. The settings I prefer are:

It was super easy to setup. At $159.99 it was the best bang for the buck no ifs ands or buts. It automatically will detect DTS, DD or other digital signals as soon as they're being outputted from your PC or I assume DVD player, etc if you use it for that as well. The remote and little receiver box for the remote work perfectly. Only problem is the writing on the little receiver box is so small. The box has many lights that will light up and tell you what is on with the description beside it. ie: if DTS is being outputted, the DTS light is on. You won't know it's on because the writing that says "DTS" is supersmall. So you have to go right up to the receiver box to see. Anyways that's not a big deal, and is the only bad thing I've found so far.

As a first timer in the surround sound arena, I am very pleased with this system ... and at $169, I really couldn't ask for more. I really like the sound and appreciate all of the features. Unfortunately I had to disconnect the input from my hi-def cable receiver due to an annoying hiss ... but the DVD input is good.

I'm using this as a home theatre audio system connected to a shaw hd box and a dvd player using optical cables. Great 5.1 digital sound, rivaling several home theatre systems at several times the cost. Setup was straightforward and the nice long included cables allowed to set up the rear speakers at the back corners of a 12'x15' room. My main complaint is that I can't find a program code to control the volume with any of my current universal remotes, nor can I get one of my learning remotes to operate these. I've heard they do work with harmony remotes which may need to be a future purchase. For now, I need the included remote to change the volume and settings.

I got these for $180 and I have to say best money I have spent on NCIX yet. I have put these on demo for several friends and they are all blown away by the sound quality. If you need a 5.1 system for an apartment and dont want some crap HTIB these are your best bet!

I upgraded from a 7.1/5.1 Creative labs to this and the difference is amazing. With the omni-polar speakers on this set its a way better listening experience than my creative. The buutons on the remote have to be press a little harder then i'm used to, to get them to work. I found these locally for $499+tax. I was goona buy them at that price and decided to check out NCIX first(you should always check at NCIX first). Very pleased.
