An eye to great viewing
The W500 features an iris-like lens design that mimics our own eye, adjusting the aperture after analyzing the incoming video signal. The aperture is contracted during dark scenes for truer black tones and enhanced detail, while it is enlarged for bright scenes to maximize light output and enable a wider dynamic range. No matter what type of content is on, the W500 ensures that you get the very best viewing experience.
Senseye™ Clarity Enhancement The W500 is designed to give you pristine HD-quality video even when the source is noise-ridden SD.
Go HD The W500 not only converts SD content such as analog TV broadcasts to HD-quality video, but it analyzes an amazing 1,024 pixels in the source for each pixel in the final HD version for native HD-like picture quality.
Stop the noise The W500 analyzes multiple frames in source video to identify and then eliminate pixels giving rise to visual noise, and also corrects for distortions resulting from too much compression.
Senseye™ Motion Optimization The W500 remedies shortcomings in regular projectors when it comes to handling fast-changing video content.
Make the "jaggies" go away Sophisticated Multi-Dimensional Diagonal Filtering (MDDF) technology smoothes away the "jaggies" that crop up along the edges of moving objects-even those lying at shallow angles of 5° to 7° while regular filters can only handle larger angles from 30° to 45°.
Look deeper To remove artifacts around moving objects that result when converting interlaced SD video to non-interlaced HD video, the W500 examines twice as much data-four fields instead of the usual two-using advanced "motion-adaptive de-interlacing".
Senseye™ Color Management Getting the widest possible range of colors and displaying them with precision accuracy is another key advantage of the W500.
Color correctly The W500 achieves greater color accuracy by handling each color signal in the video input individually, applying its brightness value directly in rendering the video. In contrast, regular projectors use a sampling process, which inevitably results in a loss of information about specific color signals and color distortion in the final projection image.

This is my second projector, both from Benq and overall this projector is a great buy. I even got NCIX to price match another online store. I have about 120" screen from about 14' away on a plain white wall and the picture is outstanding compaired to my old Benq PB6100. I use it primarily with my PS3 witch looks amazing, but standard tv looks ok but thats what you get when you watch standard def on an HD display. If you buy this one you will not regret it.

This is my second projector, my first is an epson S3. I really liked the S3 and still use it for gaming, but the Ben Q is superior in every way except one....The epson starts up and shuts down much more quickly, a feature for portable use.
This is truly the most amazing projector you can buy for around $800. Screw 1080p the 720p output on this projector is amazing.I play all my xbox shooter games on it and everything is crystal clear. You may have to back up the projector a bit though. I love how u can shift the lens and it really helps with setting it up. This thing is so bright i can play all my games with the windows open and still see everything perfectly. Definitely worth more than what I payed for!!

This thing has every lens/image adjustment option under the sun. Runs very quietly. The only comparison I have is the data projectors I've used in school and at work... This is the best projector I've seen personally. It makes an excellent computer screen, but you must sit behind the projector for best viewing. I have it hooked to my 8800gt DVI-VGA converter. I've also played some downsampled QuickTime 1080p trailers and it looks super. I will upgrade to the W5000 in time, because I am really nitpicky about the screen-door effect I see. For this price you can't complain though.

I bought this and a 100" elite screen from a computer maker for HELL for $100(if you know what I mean) got 4 2x4's and built a box and hung the screen in the middle of it with 2 plant hangers.. it's not pretty but the picture is .. I'm running bell HD not sure what looks better 1080i or 720p though the w500 though ... even standard def looks good... on my 61" rca HDTV standard def looked blurry .. not anymore thanks to this wonderful thing .. I don't regret the purchase at all .. worth every penny

At first, I was concerned about the screen door effect since it is only a 720p, however, I don't see any SDE after 2 month's use, good, solid product.

Great projector overall. The quality of the video is one of the best for the budget line of projectors. I recommended this to my aunt and she loved the quality of this projector. Made the purchase after reading many reviews on different types of projectors in the price range, and this was the winner. It is one of the leading budget line projectors to date and is great for movies and even gaming. Its small and compacts and I actually like the look of it. Highly recommended.

Très bon appareil pour le cinéma maison. Mon deuxième projecteur depuis 5 ans et je ne peux m'imaginer qu'il pourrait y avoir mieux sur le marché que le Benq W500. En haute définition (TV), l'image est aussi nette que celle de mon plasma Pionner ou mon Sony LCD. Après plusieurs recherches sur le net, ce projecteur est le meilleur achat (qualité/prix) et bien plus. Je le recommande fortement. Pourquoi payer plus cher. De toute façon, d'ici 2 à 3 ans, la technologie sera tellement plus avancée en matière de projection. En attendant, cet appareil répond parfaitement à mes besoins de cinéma maison (écran de 9 pieds avec un lecteur DVD Sony à conversion ascendante). Bon cinéma!
