An algorithm that automatically detects and adjusts read & writs speed on eccentric, deviated or imbalanced discs. Shows stable performance with diverse quality discs. Prevents disc read & write error, disc breakage and reduces noise caused by bad disc quality.
enables flexibility of drive operation: low noise mode or high speed mode
Users can choose between maximum speed mode and low noise mode. Low noise mode minimises disc damage and reduces noise created while playing in high speed in order to give stable PC environment. Simple setting up to high-speed mode for maximum speed.
optimising the laser power for the most reliable writing in DVD+R
Usually the outer side of the disc has lower writing quality because of the vibration and swaying of the disc makes the servo signal worse. Double OPC technology enables to check not only in the inner but also in the outer side of the disc, optimising the laser power on each area in order to perform the most reliable writing.

Gives an accurate tilt in the objective lens to compensate the disc twist.

I bought this to replace an old Benq in another box, burn stuff exactly like my other S203B, one of the best, could burn cheapo media like Memorex, Maxell and TDK with good results.

This basically does what it is supposed to. I haven't had any issues with it playing or burning media yet. Other than that, not sure what to say. I like how it is black, and it isn't very loud.

Early Samsung DVD writers were generally poor in quality. However, this writer is excellent in many ways. First, the burn quality (as determined using various scan tools after burning the disc) is excellent, especially on Verbatim media. Second, it is very quiet. Third, it has many features, including Booksetting. These observations are consistent with those mentioned in other reviews.

This is an amazing product for the price. It is very quick and is a good DVD / CD burner. It is a little bit louder than some drives but is still acceptable. Samsung make a good drive.
