overall this is a very nice cooler and is far better than the OEM. It cools quite well fro it's size and price. Comes with mounts for several common sockets included (always nice) and on price matched it was a bargain. :)

I bought this as a cheap cooling solution for my extra computer, heard lots of good things bout the direct touch heatpipe so thought for 19 bucks why not. Performs great! Have it on my E7200 running at 3.8Ghz with 1.38Vcore, Orthos small fft's goes up to 60-62C. Only thing I did notice was the top fin isn't attached to the heatpipes very well, it just fell off the cooler, no biggy though, still performs awsome!

Have this cooler on a Q6600 at 3.0Ghz. The fan is being controlled by the motherboard. It's fairly quiet at 1200 RPM and keeps the CPU at 50C or lower on load. At full speed, it's a bit too much, so dial it down a bit. It's a PWM fan, so any modern motherboard should be able to lower its speed.

If I set smart fan at auto instead of PWM, the fan will spin from 500-800rpm but still cool very well, at least better than stockheat sink for my overclocked E2140, if I set smart fan to pwm, it will works according to PWM specs, idle 1500rpm and will goes up to full speed if requires..if disable smartfan fan will spin at full speed and most of all very quiet, at least quieter than my case fan since I don't hear it at full speed.
