For the price you can't beat this. Linux is surprisingly easy to use and this has a built in camera for video phoning/sharing. The built in apps are quite good - you could use them in place of MS office if you want. Battery life is a bit weak. Found that I had to charge it after less than 2 hours. Also the touchpad had some problems initially. Solved that (mostly) by increasing the sensitivity settings for the touchpad in Linux.

Overall the Asus EE PC is a great small, compact laptop for users who does not do a lot of downloading...basically it's good for typing notes, chatting on the integrated MSN and for checking emails...also it's good that windows Xp can be installed into the EE PC, u would need to buy an external USB Cd drive to do that though.

Been using it for a couple of days, and though i listed a couple of weakness this Laptop has, you can't really complain due to the size. I mean, you can actually carry it in a purse! Not as small as a PDA, and not as big as a 14'laptop which you still will have trouble carrying around.

All in all, the EEE was a very good purchase. I upgraded to 2GB of RAM, added an 8GB SDHC, and installed Windows XP. I bring it to school everyday and take notes. It has replaced my traditional pen and clipboard.

I bought the Eee primarily for its size and portability. When I'm travelling, I don't want to lug a heavy laptop around. I had the Eee running within minutes of taking it out of the box, and is certainly very intuitive and easy to use. While it won't replace my old ThinkPad entirely, and is not intended for any heavy-duty computing, it is perfect for keeping in touch with the world while on a road trip. I also installed WinXP on it, just to see how easy it was. It was very easy. The Asus support disk provides all the drivers for the hardware. After installing Windows, I used the same support disk to restore the Eee back to stock - the restore process took about 5 minutes! Overall, I'm a very happy customer, and would recommend this product to anyone.
