ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 Series GPUs feature ATI Avivo™ HD technology with advanced audio, video processing, display and connectivity capabilities for high definition entertainment solutions. ATI Avivo™ HD technology includes fully integrated HD audio capabilities and supports playback of multi-channel (5.1) audio streams. When combined with the integrated HDCP copy protection, ATI Avivo HD enables a one-cable HDMI™ connectivity solution to high definition home theaters.

ATI Unified Video Decoder Technology (UVD)

Connect your PC to your home theater and start watching HD content from your computer using new ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 series graphics cards. The ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 Series is designed to decode and playback Blu-ray™ and HD DVD formats using dedicated hardware within the GPU. HDMI Video and Audio

The ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 Series GPU further enhances the HD entertainment experience by making it easy to make the connection to a big- screen or home theater system. With built-in 5.1 surround audio (AC3) pass-through capabilities, the new GPUs and graphics cards support a single HDMI connection direct to a compatible TV or receiver. This single cable carries both the HD video and 5.1 surround audio for a clean, high definition connection. Some graphics cards will have an HDMI connector built in, while others will use a special ATI Radeon DVI-I to HDMI adapter. These options mean greater choice and flexibility for consumers when connecting to PC monitors or home theaters for maximum enjoyment of full HD 1080p content.

Pros
Good mid-range card.
Cons
None.
Summary
I bought this for my secondary gaming rig.It handles Call of Duty 4 at 1440x900 max detail and Team Fortress 2 also at max detail. Not quit as powerful as my 8800GT but very good GPU for the price.

Pros
easy install Fraps of 75 for 2142,crysis,bioshock
Cons
little hot
Summary
Great card for the budget gamer, runs 2142,crysis,bioshock at an avg for all 3 of 75 FPS...Usually stick with Nvidia for gaming but this card was cheap and my 7600 went out...Very impressed so far with this card..It does run a lil hot but i am a heavy gamer so it is expected but nothing to worry about

Pros
Overclockability, performance, low power consumption
Cons
its price is going to go down in coming months, sometimes weak dx10 performance
Summary
I bought this to replace a radeon x1950pro, and its almost twice or more the performance in all games, with a lower power consumption to boot. On a Core 2 quad q6600, 4 GB RAM and on a 22" 1680x1050, it can play any game at max res + options most of the time. I'm not a huge gamer so its low idle power consumption and HD decoding abilities make it a winner in my case. Won't be upgrading it any time soon, and if I can I'll just add another one of these babies in crossfire x.

Pros
Amazing card for the price.

Cons
Odd issues with lighting in F.E.A.R.
Cannot max F.E.A.R. Extraction Point but I blame my system.
Summary
Bought this to replace an X1600 Pro 512MB.
Huge upgrade now the system (939, 4800+ X2, 2 gigs DDR) needs upgrading.
It severely throttles the card's potential.
I hate Crysis so I have not tested it though I will need to to prove that my card is better than his 8600GT.

Pros
Cool and Quiet, HDMI and VGA adapter included for those who needs them
Cons
Only 256MB of RAM, need a PCI-E power connector
Summary
From what I can tell, the performance of this card is sufficent to play most of the recent game on HIGH setting on a relatively small monitor. I have an 19" monitor (1440*900) and I play Bioshock, Crysis demo, the witcher demo, HL2 episode 2 and Stranglehold, and exept for Crysis, I can play on HIGH setting on all of them. I have to put shadow and post processing on medium for Crysis in order to play confortably.

I bought this card with an Athlon X2 5200 processor, so I got the Black Box and Stranglehold for free. For me, it was a very good deal. The fan on this card is quiet, I can't hear it at all through the case.

Pros
Good price for performance
Dances circles against other cards in its price range
Consumes very little power
Has decent overclocking potential
Can't hear it over my other case fans
Cons
Fan control is non-existent
Gets a little toasty under load because of above
A little long but that's to be expected
Summary
After seeing the benchmarks on the HD3850 and 3870 on release day, I thought it was really a toss up between the 3870 or the 8800GT. They were a little out of my price range though (about $60 more at the time) and then I realized that there was this gem of a card, the 3850.

At the end of the day, I picked one up and I've been happy with it ever since. I have a 20" widescreen monitor that can do 1680x1050 but I rarely ever play on that resolution. Usually I just play around 1280x800 and this card works beautifully for that with settings maxed.

I had a GeForce 8600GT before and this thing decimates it by a long shot. The 8600GT doesn't even come close. I'm definitely glad I traded up. Worth every penny.

The main issue I have with this card is the fact that the fan, as far as I know, isn't able to be controlled with software and the fan always stays on one speed setting regardless of temperature. As a result, the card can get rather hot (into the 80-90C range) when pushed to the max.

In addition to the card, I also received Valve's Black Box with the card and boy, is it awesome. It's like a $30-40 value and it comes free with the card. I've been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2 lately thanks to the Black Box.

Overall, this is an awesome card and is great for those gamers that want a good midrange card. You can pick one up for about $170 now. There are other good priced options out there now though but, this card is still a pretty serious contender for the price.

Pros
Runs high demanding games pretty well, overclocks to 3870 speeds, runs cool
Cons
fan could be a little quieter
Summary
Got this to upgrade from my 7900GTO, and it was worth the money. Got it during boxing week sale, and I got what I paid for.

Pros
Fast, Quiet, Cool, Good Over Clocks, CHEAP.
Cons
Low FPS at resolutions over 1680 x 1050 (expected)
Summary
I just got this a few days ago to replace the stock video card in my ACER 380 (x1650 SE - absolute GARBAGE), the card runs fast and cool and so far I've had no problems other then fitting it into the case (it was a tight squeeze). It took a long time to decided between this card, the 3870, or the more expensive 8800GT, but because I wasnt looking for a high end gaming card but more of a decent mid range I chose this one.
I wasn't disapointed, runs pretty much any older non DX10 games at 1680x1050 with no problems, and even as a mid range card I still get decent frames on crysis at 1280 x 720 with med to high settings. I come from a full gaming background I wasnt looking for a home theater card and this one totaly met my needs. Id buy another for crossfire in a heartbeat if budget allowed.
Only problem I've run into and expected was running at resolutions over 1680 x 1050, but since my monitor only supports that resolution its not much of a problem.
Great work this time around ATI.

Pros
Low price for what it does
Better than all high end previous generation cards
Low power usage
Great cooling
Cons
None
Summary
This is a really good video card when used with RivaTuner 2.06. RivaTuner allows the speed of the fan to be controlled so you can customize it to your desired cooling.
If you game on a 19" monitor then this is the card to get.
I do not have a 22" monitor so I don't know personally how good it would be on 22" resolution. I will not be buying a 22" monitor anytime soon, as I am happy with this 19" monitor. It is perfect on 1280x1024 resolution on all high settings. As for Crysis you can run it on all high settings if you dont enable AA. I do not play crysis, I play mostly MMORPGs so this card is just perfect for me, I can play any MMO available at full settings with everything maxed. Also, videos look gorgeous on this card. I love it!
