This card by itself only gets 4fps avg. lower than the new 9800 x2 from nvidia, which is $600 - $650. This single card is only around $210 right now on ncix.
Of course, XFX's GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition takes this level of performance to new heights, thanks to some rather hefty core, shader and memory clock speed increases. As always, whether a factory overclocked part is the one for you depends upon your own needs coupled with your own
I have to say that this is the MUST card to have. XFX made a great job with the bundle and by factory overclocking the card. Sure, one can overclock the card relatively easily but with a pre overclocked card, one always retains the warranty.
When we first sat the XFX GeForce 8800 GT 512MB next to the reference NVIDIA card something just didn't look right. XFX implimented a larger fan and also increased the opening in the cover to let more cool air in. The slits on the sides of the cover have also been increased to improve airflow around

Amazing product, runs great even on XP. Able to run Crysis at full detail with no issues. Haven't had to overclock yet, has been running very smoothly so far.

Using this with a Q6600 system. Wow! Running Call of Duty 4 full res and smooth as silk. Did I say fast?

Bought this a couple of weeks back at the same price as the 600 Mhz version that I had bought earlier. Compared the two and found that this one was way faster and less noisy under loads than that one.

This is a very good video card. Runs all my games on high to very high smoothly. (Even Crysis!) It runs a bit hot. Other than that, everything is perfect.

I have zero complaints about this card. I can't believe what I was missing in my games with my old card. Of course, it's not hard to impress someone running a 5 year old video card. I think it's quiet, plays my games smoothly (60-130 fps!). Good deal.

I recently ordered the card with a $30 instant rebate, a 40 mail in rebate and with 3 free games. The card itself is a good deal, but with the sale, it was fantastic. The card works great. Huge performance increase, but the only problem is the temperature and sound of the fan. I may consider buying an external cooler.

Downloaded rivatuner to adjust the fan speed and overclock. I'm waiting for the AC Accelero S1 to be back in stock, so I'm just using the stock fan for now. It's quiet enough at 40% fan speed for 2D, and I run it at 65% for overclock and 3D games (at which point the game sounds should drown out the fan).

This is a great board, the 8800GTs are the best bang for your buck atm, it really performs well but the only downside is the noise. The card fan is not controllable from the OS, as the cables used to control it aren't existing on the board, this might be a problem related to manufacturing as some have noted online, but anyhow otherwise it really does the trick (and black/green look is nice).

Overall quite happy with this card so far although I haven't put it through a full gamut of testing yet. Stock cooling is obnoxiously loud so changing up to an HR3 or an Accelero setup is recommended.

Nice card, fast and relatively low power usage. Got this to replace my 7950 GT. Good card to make the jump to DX10 for a reasonable price. Good gamer budget card. Also came with three free games!
