Great drive! Excellent alternative to having internal drives especailly if there are multiple computers involved. Like an internal, it is bootable and works just as it should. Case also has a nice finish.

This burner will actually read my updated Vista DVD's. For some reason, some drives will read them but others won't. This has come in very handy at work as well as some of our users still don't have burners in their computers. The only knock against this product is the price, but for how useful it has been, I don't mind. I would recommend to others.

I bought this for two reasons; for my eee PC and for my desktop PC. I used it to install eeeXubuntu and ubuntu onto my eee pc (as it doesn't have an optical drive) and that worked perfectly. I also use it with ubuntu on my desktop computer and everything seems to work. I haven't tried it with windows yet, or any of the software that came with it, but it did come with quite a lot. So far, I'm very happy with this drive.
