Experience: 1 Years

Quiet, efficient, powerful
Heavy, but that's a good thing in this case
Noctua fans have fans for a reason. If you need to absolutely trust the fan that is cooling your CPU, then look no further. If you would also like the quietest and toughest fan as well, then your mind has been made up for you.

Experience: 10 Days

-Gorgeous Noctua colors
-Great airflow
I'll be pickin' these up for the rest of my life or theirs.

Experience: 2 Days

Amazing fan, very quiet and the quality is seen and felt compared to stock fans as soon as you open it.
Have a Hyper 212 Evo heatsink and the stock fan after about a year or so made a very loud noise constantly. A sort of constant grind/whine noise. I just didn't realize how much of a difference it really is. With this fan, the computer sounds almost dead silent (paired with Corsair 50D case) - it's amazing.

Anyone in a similar situation (as Google has revealed tons of bad 212 stock fans), definitely do it! Installation was very easy.

Experience: 1 Months

-Low noise.
I bought 3 of those fans for my Norco RPC-4224 and they are doing their job. I would not say they are that quiet but it's not that bad. The noise level of my server with those and 2 Noctua 80mm is quite low.

Experience: 1 Days

-Very Quiet
-Moves a lot of air
This fan is amazing. On low speeds you can't even hear it. I replaced all my system fans and it made a major difference. I also have a custom fan controller driven by software controlling my fans.

Experience: 4 Months

Quality fans
Very powerful
not PWM
Ugly painting
I got these on my evo 212 and got a drop  of 3-4 C overal. (+ULTRA quiet)

Honestly - build quality is second to none. Quiet.
Brown colour.....but I hear they're finally going to make them in black! / Pricey
I've got 9 various Noctura fans in my PC. Three are two years old and went into my new build. Run just like the day I bought them. Great fans...

Experience: 1 Years

great build quality and performance
great airflow and low noise. does anyone like the colors?

- Very High Quality Fan
- Quiet
- Cools Well
- Not Made to be a Case Fan (Read Noctua's Site)
- Expensive
This is not made to be a case fan. It's meant to cool precise areas like a CPU radiator. Not meant to be in a push/pull config. Push/Pull will cause whistling and no gains. You do not need push/ pull with this fan.

Experience: 2 Days

Nine Quiet blades.
Quiet motor with no switching noise.
Uses just over 1 Watt at 12 Volts to move 54.3CFM/ 92.3m3/h.
Quality plastics and rubber materials.
Long wires.
Molex and standard 3-pin adapters, mounting dampers, two fixed-speed adapters included.
Its sexy in an understated way.

Fan could be balanced better.
Great fan. I couldn't stand stock 70mm fans in my Xbox 360 console. The noise was unnecessary and when they wind up to maximum rpm when the Xbox was hot, the sound drowned out the game and was unbearable. It was akin to a F-4 Jet takeoff mixed with a leaf-blower. After ploughing through hours of online forums, useless meandering, a limited selection of products claiming reduced overall noise (while brandishing pretty LEDs and other useless paraphernalia) in what proved to be a dead end task, I knew what I had to do. Several years ago this console went back to the manufacturer for repairs, and came back with the same heatsink and fan combo. My old PC which is about 14 years of age has the exact same heatsink, and that heatsink is aluminum and only rated for 50W dissipation with convection assistance. If there was a copper one to fit, I'd buy it. Clearly, the "maximum savings!" sirens and strobe lights went off inside the XBox marketing department and someone decided to use a 50W rated heatsink on a CPU that dissipates 100W. No more reeling around the fountain, indeed...

In 2009 I purchased two Noctua NF-R8 3-pin fans for my PC and they left an impression. Four years later, they are still quiet with no bearing noise. With this knowledge in hand, and in an utter act of desperation and intrinsic lunacy, I recently purchased a single Noctua 120mm NF-P12 3-pin fan and 12V variable fan speed controller (Item 35790) and installed them on the Xbox 360, and made an improvised shroud internally and externally for it. The DVD drive's first two wires closest to the REAR of the Xbox are spliced as a 12V source and ground, ground being on the outside-most portion of the twin row connector, positive 12V on the inside-most. The noise at full speed is magnitudes lower and I use a variable controller to set the speed where I prefer it, currently about 60-75% full power. The fan is so quiet, that if my stock Xbox was idling at the dashboard screen under a layer of puff blankets and corduroy trousers (see what I did there? :P), it was still leagues louder than the Noctua at full throttle and fully exposed on the rear, and the Noctua is pulling more air while doing it. The new 120mm noctua's blades are actually quieter than the older version Noctua NF-R8 80mm fans, and is quieter than some laptops fans. Good quality appears consistent with that of their previous models. The Noctua's are a stand out product for me because there is no commutator switching noise that normally plagues computer fans, and the fan blade noise is disperse and easier on the ears. It's not silent, but its so much better than it was. They are also very good looking fans. I am glad they did not put a great deal of wasted energy into the fashion component of production, but even so they are not ugly.

There is one small caveat: Each of the Noctuas I have owned are slightly out of balance and will enact a lower frequency vibration upon any undamped surfaces onto which they are mounted. To counter this phenomenon Noctua has include rubberized mounts but soft cushion foam is the best isolation material to mount any fan on, when you otherwise have nothing else to hold to. You can then spray-glue the foam to attach aluminum foil or tape to make a damped but flexible air-tight seal. I do not know if there are quieter fans available for the same flow rates, but if there are I would love to try them. In any case Noctua is making a good product that offers competitive flow and low noise. I do recommend!

Comment: "Utilising both the NF-S12 and NF-P12 120mm fans on the radiator for our cooling tests yielded some interesting results. I have included some Scythe S-FLEX results in the chart to help make a comparison. The NF-S12 800 gets left behind at 7v, but the NF-P12 performs better than the Scythe S-FLEX's t

Comment: Noctua has a winner on their hands here. Not only is it the quietest fan I have come across but it was able to offer performance of a fan much louder.
Posted by: Zenphic @12/19/07
Comment: Now looking at the noise levels of the P12 line is the true charm here.
Posted by: Zenphic @12/19/07
Comment: Although they push the budget a little from a mere $12 to whopping $30 from some stores, excellent cooling and noise reduction make this product highly recommended.
Posted by: Zenphic @12/19/07
Comment: It really does tick all the boxes, by providing the airflow of a high-performance fan while producing the same noise as fans that have needed to compromise airflow to obtain their low decibel output.
Posted by: Zenphic @12/19/07
Comment: Once again Noctua doesn't disappoint. The NF-P12 produces a decent airflow, a high static pressure and is extremely quiet. This fan is perfect for low-noise CPU, radiator, PSU or case cooling.
Posted by: Zenphic @12/19/07
Comment: It’s incredible the volume that this fan produces and equally incredible when you see not only the airflow figures but the static pressures. It obvious that this fan has been designed for watercooling setups where static pressure plays a large role.
Posted by: Zenphic @12/19/07
Comment: DragonSteelMods gives the Noctua NF-P12 120MM fan a 5 out of 5 score and our Recommended Award as well.
