SteelSeries 7G sets new industry standards for gaming keyboards by allowing users to perform the most detailed and advanced key combinations to date. By utilizing the most powerful PS/2 buffer-system ever created for a gaming keyboard, SteelSeries 7G redefines “anti-ghosting" by supporting as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard. The keyboard features both PS/2 and USB connectors.
The use of PS/2 (combined with a gold-plated USB connector) and 18K gold-plated mechanical switches, means that SteelSeries 7G offers more Actions Per Minute than any other keyboard in the world, gaming grade response times and more than six times the durability of a traditional keyboard.
SteelSeries 7G is equipped with audio ports for headphone-in and microphone-out and features two USB ports. The keyboard furthermore features SteelSeries Media Controls essential for gaming, allowing the user quick access to volume, mute and other audio controls.

This keyboard comes equipped with linear (black) cherry mechanical switches; these type of switches are neither springy nor spongy, and provide no tactile feedback. I highly recommend that you demo this keyboard to see if the key feel and travel is right for you. Please make note of the layout; the enter key takes up two rows, forcing the backslash key up a row and halving the width of the backspace key.

For people used to the old IBM keyboards, this one will make you fell right at home. It's incredibly well built, quite a change from the Microsoft/Razor Reclusa and Logitech G15

My 1985 built PS2 keyboard was a work of art, and still going strong. But really it looked like it belonged on the ground in the capital waste land.

This keyboard give an outstanding touch feeling and just for that I think I would buy again, but the price is just really too high for most people. Just some fanatic freak, like me, dont mind put all this money into a keyboard.

Not just a gaming keyboard, but the absolute best typing keyboard money can buy. This isn't one of cheesy keyboards with LEDs, macros, 11ty billion macro keys. The 7G is a no gimmick professional keyboard. Once you go mechanical you'll never go to the mushy membrane keyboards, that plague 99% of the keyboards out there. And with the 50 million keystroke lifetime it will definitely will be the last keyboard you'll ever need to buy.
