SteelSeries 7G sets new industry standards for gaming keyboards by allowing users to perform the most detailed and advanced key combinations to date. By utilizing the most powerful PS/2 buffer-system ever created for a gaming keyboard, SteelSeries 7G redefines “anti-ghosting" by supporting as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard. The keyboard features both PS/2 and USB connectors.
The use of PS/2 (combined with a gold-plated USB connector) and 18K gold-plated mechanical switches, means that SteelSeries 7G offers more Actions Per Minute than any other keyboard in the world, gaming grade response times and more than six times the durability of a traditional keyboard.

SteelSeries have taken a very different approach to the 7G Gaming Keyboard in that they haven't concentrated on giving you a ton of buttons you wont use and a bunch of lights that you'll want to turn off, instead they have put all their technology into making the 7G the most robust keyboard

This is one of the best keyboards that I have ever encountered. I have used cherry mx blue (Coolermaster quickfire rapid), and cherry mx brown (really old keyboard that I found in my lab) so far. I didn't really like how keys were really easily pressed for blue switches, and brown switches had sandy feeling ( i dunno how to describe it :(). Obviously this is personal preference, but if you like the feeling of keys bouncing back when it is pressed... mx black is the way to go. I also love the wrist rest in this thing. It is pretty awesome!

The keyboard is very good for the people who don't want unnecessary features like backlights and macros on their keyboard but still want a mechanical keyboard. Seen many keyboards ruined because of the glossy finish that is just a fingerprint magnet, but this one is matte black. Would have preferred a USB 2.0 slot instead of a 1.1 hub and also a full size backspace. The indicator lights are not as bright as everyone says.

As expected of a mechanical Keyboard. Works great, however, black cherry was more resistant then I had originally anticipated. My fingers got sore in the first day or 2 but afterwards, I mashed away like a normal keyboard. Great Build for only 90$+tax.

Bought at $89.99, I can't complain too much since this seems to be the lowest price ever on NCIX. However I wouldn't pay the regular $124.39 for this keyboard. I think the Metadot Das Professional (PM direct canada or best direct) is a better deal.
To be honest I'm not that happy about the keyboard layout. I don't mind the bigger enter key and the moved pipe key, but the smaller backspace really makes it awkward. It might be fine after when you are used to it, however if you have a different keyboard at work things might get a bit complicated.
