"you can easily overclock the card to outperform the HD 3870 and even some of NVIDIA's latest offerings. Overall the performance of the HD 3850 is fine to play all current titles at their "high" detail setting"
"Its performance in the newest games is rock solid and save for perhaps Crysis with its power hungry engine not a single game can bring it to its knees... Media playback is also one of the cards strong points, delivering an unparalleled experience when it comes to HD video playback."

Purchased this card to replace my EVGA GeForce 7900GS KO and all I can say is wow! With my e6750, P5k Premium board, and Muskin XP2 MHz RAM, this card run incredibly and can max out any game I've put on it at 1680x1050 (22inch) resolution with the exception of Crysis which can run all high and one or two at very high at 1440x900 with no lag (Overclock the GPU to 840MHz and 2GHz for that). Very stable, very quiet, temps can range significantly dependign on clocks and fan speed but at stock it idles fairly low. Very good looking card, works very well with my UV lights and such. GLOW.

I purchased this from my local store about a month ago, they were having this huge sale and from when I pulled out my debit card I knew I would have regretted it.

Paired with an AMD 5000+ BE this thing rocks. Ran Crysis at Medium-High; GTR2, Race and CS-S at FULL functionality .. and it ran over without problems. Working in Photoshop/Strate 3D, this sucker keeps up with 300mb file with "no big deal" attitute.

It astounds me at how fast, quiet and cool this card runs. Runs Bioshock at 1680x1050 all settings maxed and it's smooth as silk. Nothing bad to say other than make sure you have room in your case as this card is pretty big and I had to rearrange my hard drives so that I could plug in the 6-pin power adapter. Also of note, this card does not come with a 6-pin power adapter so your psu will have to have one or you'll have to find an adapter.

First of all, I would like to point out that this card like most gaming cards today is very long. I bought a Raidmax Sagitta (which is 49.5cm deep)and could barely squeeze the 6 pin connector on to the cards because of the hard drive cage.

Installed in a breeze, first thing I noticed was the size quite a bit larger than my 9800 Pro. Only issues with the install were the drivers, after installing/reinstalling them Catalyst control center still didn't work. So I had to go to ATi website and d/l them from there. Not that big of a deal but just a hassle. Anyways, the card works great and it the pot was sweetened with the addition of the Black box. I can run Crysis with everything at high at 1650x1050 with pretty much no slowdown. Once I turn on AA then there is some slowdown but its playable. Gears of War, Call of Duty and Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance all run at 1650x1050 with everything at high or maxed, and of course Counterstrike team fortress etc. I haven't tried overclocking it yet but I don;t think i need to for a little while. Overall i am really happy with my purchase, I got it for 225 plus tax etc and was really worried about not waiting for the 3870 version but I am really happy with this.

Put this in as a xmas/birthday present for my son. The card is a large dual slot video card that comes over clocked. This is attached to a monitor that does a maximum of 1280 x 1024 and as such every game that we have tried we could set to maximum settings and we are running very good FPS pm the games still. Although 256MB in a video card may have been enough for the current monitor, I felt that 512MB would be a safer chose as I expect that we could be replacing the monitor at the end of the year and then we would require the memory for a higher resolution monitor. This 3850 in conjunction with a Ultima-90 cpu fan makes the disk drives the loudest part of the system.
