Experience: 3 Years
fast for a few years old CPU
still pricey by the end of 2010
I've owned this processor since it came out almost 3 years ago and as of the end of 2010 it can still handle anything I throw at it. Right now, I'm using it in a "home made" server running ESXi 4.1, with 8gb DDR2 memory. It easily handles what I'm currently running, which is: 2x Windows 2008 Server R2, 2x Windows 7, 2x Windows XP and 3-4 Linux Distro. As long as you have a few HDDs to share the load, ESX will run smooth with this processor.

Experience: 2 Years
fast and stays quite cool
dual core 45nm technology mine is overclocked at 4.2ghz
love this processor stays really cool too very
happy with this purchase

Experience: 30 Months
Low Temps, easy to over clock, good price
Isn't compatible with I5, I7 boards, only has two cores
Note ** I actually have the Xeon Verson E3110

I've owned this CPU for about 2.5 years and haven't had a single issue with it.

I ran it for a while at 3.6 ghz, now just have it at 3.3ghz for a little extra boost. It still runs most games perfectly fine, however those that are actually optimized for 4 cores it struggles a bit (i.e. GTA IV).

If I were to build a PC now I would definitely choose a different socket. If you have a 775 socket motherboard and you are looking to upgrade I'd look at a Q9650 since it has 4 cores (but nearly twice the price).

Experience: 2 Years
Been using her for years, still fast, still powerful.

Overclocks like a beast, running at 4.3 GHz on air and the temps are still good.

Can handle any game fine, an all around good CPU.

Experience: 1 Years
Works great for daily useage and games.
not quad
Had this for around a year. It handles the games I play greatly. Also this one overclocks pretty well for extra performance. Since not many applications use quad core fully, this one still gives plenty of performance for casual users.

Experience: 1 Years
Good price/perf
Nice cpu, more then 1 year i got this cpu and all work perfect. OC at 3.5ghz with noctua cooling and p5k se Asus MB.

Experience: 2 Years
great for oc'ing
I bought this for my system 2 years ago. I have yet to have any problems. I overclocked this baby to 3.6 without problems. It runs windows 7 without any problems. I'll be upgrading my system to an i5 and giving this to my brother.

Experience: 6 Weeks
 Verified Owner
Fast 3GHz
Duel Core
Installed on a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L motherboard. Installed XP Pro OS. This computer was built to run some older software which won't benefit much from more than 2 cores, so this speedy processor works great. Running 24/7 for 6 weeks, no issues, heat problems, etc. Stock HSF, no over-clocking.

Experience: 7 Months
3.8 GHZ ovc, that was fast!, was that fast?,.... I thought that was fast!!!!
temperature can skyrocket in a heartbeat.
awsome cpu, Make sure you use thermal paste and good heat sink, and fans to keep this sucker cool. fast as you choose handles far cry 2 with no problem. Mind you I need a better video card.... here I come shopping again! ooooh and I want some ram too...

Experience: 1 Months
good temp
runs windows 7 home premium and games flawlessly, fast loading times, and im currently really happy i bought this. i recommend everytone to get this if your on budget

Comment: The new E8400 is a very impressive processor and the fact that it can be purchased for the same price as an E6750 is remarkable. Although the E8400 is clocked at 3.0GHz like the E6850, it will actually be replacing the E6750 at $183 US. The E6850 will be phased out by the E8500, while the E6550 will
