it's been 2 months since i purchased this product. everything is good and i'm pretty satisfied. however it's a bit bulky. if you don't have much spaces on your desk, it might be better to get a slim one. otherwise it's all good.

I used this drive with my netbook to load on UbuntuEee and various other operating systems as I commonly do testing. I was pleased with the drive and it worked exactly as expected.

This unit has worked consistantly for me since I bought it. The price was right and it is very easy to use and understand, they even have a video for you to view if you arent sure how it works. I will get another one once this goes. I even have this set up on my tv so I can record my weekly canadas worst driver and no flaws yet

I bought this drive to upload and burn stuff off my Acer Aspire One and it works great. I picked up this burner while it was on sale at NCIX and paid 59.95+shipping. I think that for the price, it is great value.
Good solid product for the price. Burns discs at a very consistent and fast speed. Only downside is that this drive doesn't include a firewire connection.

Nice quiet external drive - using for connectivity for my netbook and subnote. Recognized by Asus EeePC 1000 and HP nc4010. Haven't tried the direct writing from a camera yet, but does the job that I want it to (DVD reads for aforementioned notebooks).

i bought this when it was on a very cheap bundle.. over all pretty good, the live update (firmware updater) that comes on the CD does not recognize the drive

I bought that drive in a bundle at surprise sale.It is a great burner with the samsung disks or other proper media you can burn dvd at 20X it is great. The drive is very silent and it is very easy to create backup of files just pressing the only one button the burner has. Comes with everything you need and prevent you from needing to add internal burner. Would buy again watch it in special

I really liked that you can record directly from your webcam, and I plan to use it as a security feature. I will set it to record from my webcam when I am away from my home. I just need some really large discs. Your DVD will hold about 80 minutes worth of video content depending on the quality of your video. The better the quality, the less it will hold. The software also allows you to design the splash screen for your DVD, so that when you insert it into a DVD player you have menus to browse and can select what scene and chapter you want to start at. It's basically a professional DVD made easy.
