Pros
Well-built, light weight, great price, excellent cooling capacity!
Cons
The fins are so light they can be bent easily if you're not careful, somewhat difficult installation with crossbow mounting kit.
Summary
This is my first of this style of cooler. It was a bit tricky to install at first (using the crossbow mounting kit.) It's the best cooler I've ever used, and it's so light for it's size (only 600g with fan!) At $40 CAN you can't go wrong, and you won't be sorry. Be sure you have enough room to fit as it's 159mm tall.

Pros
Good performance, quiet fan.
Cons
s939 only mountable one way.
Summary
Bought this to help silence and extend the performance of an old amd socket 939 pc being used as a living room htpc. Wanted a decently priced 120mm fan based cooler and this fit the bill; though specifically on s939, the cooler is only mountable in a north/south (top/bottom) facing airflow orientation.

Pros
Simple design.
quick install
solid construction
Cons
AMD orientation
Summary
I installed this on an Asus A8N32-sli deluxe board. OEM CPU fan failed. This was easy to install. Lots of clearance over ram and motherboard heat pipes. I am seeing about a 10C drop  in idle temps and about 7 to 8C drop  in full load temps. I had two problems, one I already knew of. The orientation with AMDs is either top-bottom or vise versa. I would rather have it front to back. The other issue was I located the lock lever on the same side as the fan. The lever kinda sits a bit high and doesn't allow the fan to sit flush with the top of the cooler. It is very close and hardly noticeable and I highly doubt it effects cooling at all. I does make getting the rubber locks in a bit hard. In a way with the fan sitting over the lever it acts like a secondary lever lock to keep it down. I didn't use the stock fan. I used a Cooler Master R4 instead. The fans are the same size. Between 1500 - 2000 rpm I can't tell hear the difference, very quiet.

Pros
Value, quiet fan, keeps temps nice and low
Cons
None
Summary
Using this with the Xigmatek crossbow mounting kit for LGA1156 (ACK-I5361 I think) and mounting was no problem. Keeps my Core i5 750 between 20-30C without making any noise.

Pros
very good cooling, low price.
Cons
hard to install. does not fit some cases.
Summary
great cooling for low price. probably one of the better direct touch coolers out there. this was pretty difficult to install, the instruction manual was not very clear. the heatsink might be a bit too long for some cases.

Pros
Runs quiet, keeps cpu cool, Direct touch, fan installation is simple
Cons
bolt thru kit is a MUST! push pins are terrible
Summary
Make sure you buy the Xigmatek Bolt thru kit for a sturdy installation because push pins are horrible. The bottom fin is touching the fins on my Rampage Extreme so do your research for case and mobo compatibility.

Pros
Great cooling.
Reasonable price.
Cons
None.
Summary
I did not use the stock fan as I needed a fan with red Led's to match the case fans.
I used the silnex IXTREMA Pro red 120mm Led fan.
Was running an OCZ Vendetta 2 cooler, but was getting higher than expected temperatures when running Prime 95.
Idle temperatures dropped 5'C Load temps 9'C over the OCZ cooler.(running a Phenom 2 955 at 3600mhz).
Easy install on my AMD system. Intel users may have a harder install.

Comment: It seems it was just yesterday that the last paradigm shift happened with CPU cooling solutions. Before heatpipes were on the scene the only way manufacturers could increase the thermal efficiency (and thus their thermal load potential) was by making the big hunk of aluminum or copper which was thei

Comment: Compared to the other elite CPU coolers we've tested in the past, the HDT-S1283 comes in a close second to the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme. A measured difference of one degree is not enough to call one heatsink better than the other however. It was also the best performing heatsink we've tested w

Comment: Wow, the performance numbers speak for themselves, for a heatsink with only 3 heatpipes the results are very impressive. When coupled with high speed fans and bolt-through kit the HDT-S1283 is on par with the more expensive Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme. That by itself is a very difficult goal to o
