Pros

The best processor heatsink available as far as cooling goes

Black Edition includes fanclips for two fans, in push/pull configuration

Reasonably smooth base without lapping
Cons
Expensive, worth it for an avid overclocker but for a moderate overclock there are cheaper alternatives
Summary
For the best overclocking results short of a good water cooling setup, this is the heatsink to get. I would recommend buying two fans with this, 1600 RPM scythe s-flex fans are what I use and are reasonably quiet. If you aren't overclocking a lot, you may be better off with a cheaper hsf, such as the OCZ Vendetta 2 or Xigmatek-S1283.

Pros

Looks nice, good cooling performance
Cons
price, easy to get finger print on it. hard to clean
Summary
It performs the same as the regular one, but looks nicer. It keeps my i7 cool on idle, but not under load. Heat released from i7 is just so...horrible.

Pros

- Excellent packaging
- Great potential
Cons
- Large? (I didn't think it is that large when I first got it - though maybe after you install the fans it grows to large)
- Not the cheapest
Summary
Impressive, most impressive. And I am not even talking about the results! I am going purely on the packaging and look/quality of the product. Everything about this cooler screams quality. I have only seen a couple other products that have come this close to impressing me on just the way it comes to you. From the simple, yet stately design of the outer box, to the foam surrounding the cooler, to the simple, yet concise instructions to the plastic bags that are all clearly identified as to what is in them.

The only thing that may be a negative is the price, but after a quick price match I was able to knock off a good 10 bucks.
I will edit this review after I get it installed and broken in.

Pros

Performance, Built Quality, Price
Cons
None except for maybe size??
Summary
This is the BEST CPU cooler available today and should fit most cases (but it is a beast, so be sure to check measurements first).

I have an E8400 running at 3.8Ghz and this baby has it topping out at 39C e full load! That's amazing...under 40C and only 1 fan.

I haven't had time to play with it much, but i suspect I can take the CPU past 4Ghz without breaking a sweat! If you like OCing then this must be considered.

Pros

- Beautiful black finish
- 2 fans hooks and thermal paste included
- Cool CPU very good
- Good design
- Fits 120 mm fans
Cons
- Very heavy
- Very big so may need a big enough cash to fit it
- Doesn't include fans!
- Took me long to get on a back order, 2 months
Summary
A very good cpu cooler. A bit pricy but it comes with a few extras. I personally bought it for the pure cooling power you can get out of it. Overclocking is a breeze with this massive heatsink.

Pros

Best heatsink series on the market. Nuff' said!
Cons
Ha! What?
Summary
First, Thermalright gets points for its presentation of this exceptional quality heatsink –– it arrives in a big black branded box, and everything inside is excellently protected against shipping and handling incidents. Second to this, the sheer size and quality of this heatsink is amazing. You'll understand the very moment you hold it up to the light. You'll understand why nothing beats it. Wow. Just 'wow'.
Bought it to cool my Q9550.

Pros

Excellent quality ant cooling capabilities.
Cons
Runs 2C warmer than the original Ultra-120 Extreme, but it still beats the competition.

Summary
I bought this because I sold mine to a friends computer who was in need of one fast. However I dont think it cools quite as well as the stranded (not black edition) one. On my old one I was at 17C on my Q6600, and on this one it is 19C

Pros

-cools like theres no tommorow
-temps with a Q6600 B3 at 3.4ghz 50 celsius
-huge
-good looking
-two fan clips
Cons
-looks like can snap my motherboard (not really a weakness)
-expensive
Summary
i still think this thing is worth it,
if some dude builds anything thing better than this cooler, im going to bow before him cause i don't think its even possible on air :)

    TRUE Black 120 FAQ

Question :  What is the difference between Ultra-120 eXtreme and TRUE Black 120?

    Answer :
The main differences between Ultra-120 eXtreme and TRUE Black 120 are in the color and additional accessories. More specifically, TRUE Black 120 includes the new Chill Factor 2, the upgraded version of the original thermal paste, the Chill Factor. It also has an extra set of fan wire clips for a push-pull, two fan installation. Performance is the same for both in single fan mode.

Question :  I have a nVidia 790i motherboard. Due to the unusually tall northbridge cooler, I was wondering if TRUE Black 120 can be installed without height interference.

    Answer :
nVidia 790i’s northbridge stock cooler tends to be taller than others so if you are to install Ultra-120 eXtreme or TRUE Black 120 you will need to rotate the heatsink to have the CPU fan blow toward the northbridge cooler and not toward the exhaust case fan.

Comment: All things accounted, the TRUE Black 120 is one of the most stylish, well constructed, and best package deals on the market, the only downside to all of this is the fact that TR has continued to let design flaws continue on its manufacturing end, and if i had my choice i would award the TRUE in gene

Comment: Thermalright has undoubtedly created a legendary heatsink with their Ultra Extreme. I am pleased to say that their new TRUE Black 120 is no exception and has thoroughly impressed me.

Comment: For standard cooling needs, a regular old Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme will do the job just fine, and if you throw in, what, a $3 set of fan clips, an $8 tube of thermal grease, and a $12 fan, you're still running a surplus.

Comment: The Thermalright True Black 120 is an outstanding CPU cooler and the best we have seen on the LGA775 platform. No other air-cooler offers a better performance to noise ratio.

Comment: I have long been a fan of Thermalright heatsinks and the TRue Black 120 has done nothing to change that; it does not disappoint in either appearance or performance.

Comment: If you prefer a black cooler, that will be OK. But if you don’t care the color, on the other hand, the price of TB120 will be “black” for you.
