The 4850 does what it is designed to do with high end performance outclassing the HD3870 across the board for a $200 price point using less power and with excellent features the HD4850 is interesting competition to NVIDIA’s mid-range card the 9800GTX+ and 9800GTX standard at $199.

Excellent performance for this card but things to consider are attaching a good heatsink and fan (voids warranty) and it only has a 1 year warranty.

I purchased this card for a friends build and tested some crysis out on it. I was impressed by the FPS I was getting on high settings o 1280x1024 resolution. However on my 24" wide screen (1920x1200) the frame rates were abysmal and wasn't even close to being playable. I will keep my GTX280 for that monitor. However if you use a 19" monitor this is a great card for you. Though I found the 8800GTS G92 to perform slightly better in most games and as such the 9800GTX+ would perform better yet for a similar price. Either way this is interesting times in the graphics market!

this is the best bang for the buck video card in my opinion. it can play pretty much any game I throw at it with good frame rates. I would highly recommend this card.
