Excellent performance for this card but things to consider are attaching a good heatsink and fan (voids warranty) and it only has a 1 year warranty.

I purchased this card for a friends build and tested some crysis out on it. I was impressed by the FPS I was getting on high settings o 1280x1024 resolution. However on my 24" wide screen (1920x1200) the frame rates were abysmal and wasn't even close to being playable. I will keep my GTX280 for that monitor. However if you use a 19" monitor this is a great card for you. Though I found the 8800GTS G92 to perform slightly better in most games and as such the 9800GTX+ would perform better yet for a similar price. Either way this is interesting times in the graphics market!

Coming from a Radeon HD 3850 256MB, I felt a pretty big performance increase. For the first time, I'm actually able to play at high resolution with everything maxed out...and I didn't even have to break the bank!

This is an awesome card and a big improvement over my ATI X1950 Pro. I hear plenty of people complaining about how hot the processor gets. The processor is no worse than any other processor. It's the fan's fault. It's spinning too slow to cool it down. That's it. I'm not sure why ATI set the card's default fan speed so low, but it isn't a big problem. Everyone knows about it and how to fix it. You should know how to change the fan's speed anyway. Everyone wants it to spin at different speeds. I prefer 40 percent. Some may overclock and want 50 or 60 percent (loud). Me? I bought an Accelero S1 and plan to put it on in a week or so.
