Power
Power comes in many forms. Often the smallest is the most powerful, just
like the Intel® Atom™ processor.
Feeling
Smaller than an average diary and weighing less than 1 kilo, the Aspire one
puts freedom in the palm of your hands.
Vision
How big is perfection? The Aspire one is built for Internet navigation and
features an 8.9” LCD screen that fits the 1024*600 web resolution to
perfection.
Style
Your style comes in different colours, each with its own individual
character. So does the Aspire one.
Explore
The Aspire one was designed to get you online in no time at all and thanks to
the Linpus™ Linux® Lite operating system, start up and shut down times are
reduced to the minimum. With the Aspire one running on Linux environment, the
simplicity continues with the intuitive and specifically optimized software
interface.

As a phenomenon known to thin-film transistors (TFTs), liquid crystal displays (LCDs) commonly exhibit a small number of discoloration dots, as so-called "non-conforming pixels." This phenomenon is a limitation of TFT LCD technology, not a product defect, and as such is not covered by Acer's warranty.

Have this unit for quite sometime. Having the linux installed on it, the boot up time is incredibly fast, takes 20-30 seconds. Once logged in, the interface is really limited to some basic functions and things are classified according to their own categories. No complain about the speed in such a small netbook, but come on, who doesn't want to tweak their stuff. Customizing the linux interface won't be really appreciated. Tried to do some documents and save it in .doc format but when trying to open it on a different unit, prompt an unknown file. Don't know why. Liked some of the games and the RSS Feeder. But I'm no Linux fan to be honest so I tried to upgrade the memory to 1.5gb and installed XP Pro SP2. At first, didn't know that NTFS wasn't friendly with this netbook so reformat and tried Fat32 and also installed the appropriate drivers and from there everything worked fine. Common boot up time but occasionally freezes. Really annoying to be honest. But overall, this netbook is a good purchase for common household use. =P

I loved the first 2 weeks then it began to show minor glitches (would re-boot automatically, wireless connection cutting in and out, etc.) then one day it decided not to loop the boot up sequence. Returned it after about 20 days.

First day I upgraded the memory with a 1GB 677 Samsung SODIMM i had laying around. Some people have reported problems using 677 memory but it worked fine for me. However, it was very sketchy opening up this unit to upgrade the memory, acer really should have put a removable flap to upgrade the memory without taking apart the laptop.

The model sent to me by NCIX needed ALOT of patches to finally work correctly(keyboard and messenging mostly). But that said it a great little computer and for the price you can go wrong! It loads up in less then 30 seconds and the WI-FI connection is very strong.

The product is fairly decent. Ships with an OS called Linpus Linux Lite which boots fairly fast. Keyboard and touchpad are not too bad. The machine looks attractive.
