This hard drive have such a big capacity that it's perfect for my new gaming/media rig. The large capacity available for storage will take a very long time to fill up. This hard drive also run faster than my old drives as I found loading is significantly faster.

This drive is great, it runs fast and comes with 5 year warranty. Definately worth the few extra bucks over cav green. It does run a bit hotter than my other drives though.

I purchased four of these to put into a new virtualization PC I'm building at work in two RAID0 arrays. One thing I didn't know is that the MBR partition cannot be more than 2TB in size, otherwise you can't install Windows. I was a little disappointed because I was looking at putting all four of them in a RAID5 array, but now I have to put them into a RAID0 array.

What can I say? It's a very good 1TB HDD. The Black series is faster than the other WD HDD's but apparently run warmer. For what it's worth, mine runs between 26 and 29 C.

Product Warranty
First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the 3 year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar SE desktop drives are covered by a 3 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail.
Warranty coverage for drives is covered by NCIX for the first thirty (30) days with the remainder of the warranty covered by Western Digital.
