I've built 2 desktops using this chip because it's the cheapest quad core at the time. The heatsink/fan combo that comes with it isn't the best. I'd recommend getting some big block heatsink with a silent fan, which can be found for under $50, since this cpu runs a little hotter than the average dual core.

Really great product. Doesn't consume much energy, is fast as hell. I use it with CentOS 64 bits and the operating system is really responsive. I use it with virtualization functions and it's quite fast too. Good product I'd recommend to anyone.

Its a great CPU if you want to have a decent system for all around use. I wouldnt however get this as a gaming CPU because its runs a bit on the hot side for me with a stock HS and fan. also the OC possibility are not as good as the Q6600 or others.

This cpu is awesome for its price for a budget build expecially since its a quad core. The only downside to this is its stock heatsink. The temperatures run a bit high and now I gotta buy an aftermarket heatsink so my computer doesn't restart when I play games.

Defective software, video games or DVDs
