I bought this hard drive for use in my Acer Aspire One. Unfortunately for some reason in the Acer Aspire One it receives subpar read/write speeds. Fortunately I only paid $49.99 for it during the boxing week sale, it isn't worth the full price yet... once performance increases a bit more then the price will be justified.

This is actually the first SSD I ever bought. I didn't know about the difference nor the existence of Jmicron controller at the time of purchase, but after spending further time with this piece of hardware and having the Corsair SSD and g.kill SSD (not titan) to compare it with, these are my results:

I bought this with no expectations of super performance, despite hearing all the horror stories about the awful random write performance for multitasking. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised at how fast it is. Haven't had much trouble with the so called random write issues, no locking up for "seconds" before responding or anything like that. I do feel the occasional hiccup, but it doesnt even last for a full second, which is quite acceptable to me since I paid only fifty dollars for it. =D

Originally planned to use on my laptop, but found that the drive was a bit too small so ended up using in desktop. Useful for installing stuff that doesn't do much writes. As for now, it's a cheap temporary SSD drive. Would recommend to wait for something more refined and reasonably priced.

Used as main drive for Linux file server, to improve reliability. If you plan to use it in a similar way (desktop or server application), do not forget to get a mounting brackets for standard HDD bay.

I have been lookin at getting an SSD for a long time now, this was on sale for 149.99 - 50$ MIR so for 99$ I didn't think I could go wrong. I underestimated the amount of storage I needed I put this unit into my toshiba laptop to see if I could get a better preformance boost over the 250GB 5400 RPM drive I had. There was no preformance increase at all, sure the laptop is much more quiet not but after recovering the laptop using the Toshiba recovery discs I have 2gb of HD space remaining (after installing SP1 and all the available Windows Updates. I was going to putchase the OCZ 64GB or 128GB modle in a few months anyway, but serves me right for jumping at the price and not checking what space I really needed. On an older compaq laptop I have about 8GB's of space since it is running XP home. I might put the drive in that unit when i get my new one, even thought it is just an e-mail machine.
